Preview for Week of April 16 This week our unit is we 9999929272727Weather, and of will be learning about the different kinds
weather and how to prepare for temperature changes. In Art we will paint clouds and make a wind wheel which we can experiment with outdoors. We will also do two other outdoor projects, featuring Mr. Sun and Mr. Shade and Clouds in a Bottle. In Discovery we will experiment with tornado bottles and rainbow beads. In Dramatic Play we will plan an outdoor picnic and use cameras and binoculars to observe and record weather changes. Manipulatives will have wind experiments with puffer pigs, and some four seasons matching games and puzzles. In Writing Center we will write in our journals about what we like to do in different weather, as well as write in the clouds (shaving cream). In our Sensory Center we will do road construction in different types of weather. In Quiet Center we will help the Loving Family get ready for different types of weather.

Spring Program!

Our Spring Program was a great success! We enjoyed performing for our friends and families, and we loved the refreshments afterward! Thanks to those who provided cookies for this event.

Highlights from Last Week

We had fun learning more about Noahs Ark unit last week, and in Dramatic Play we worked in Noahs Animal Sanctuary taking care of a variety of creatures. In Art we painted stormy skies and rainbows, and created a collage featuring Noahs dove. In Discovery we used color paddles and charts to experiment with various color combinations. In Manipulatives we worked on color patterning, matching games, and a Noahs ark puzzle. In the Writing center we worked together on our own Noahs Ark by drawing pairs of animals and we made rainbows to help us remember Gods promises. In our Sensory Center we played with pairs of animals and in the Listening Center we listened to the story of Noah.

Spring Program Notes

We are so very proud of our friends! They did an awesome job at the Spring Program. Thank you for working with your children at home on their lines. The work really showed. Every time they sing Great Big God the joy shines on their faces! It warms our hearts, and we pray they always remember that God will always hold them in His hands.

Chapel Time and More!

Our Chapel leader, Mrs. Herring, talked to us about feeling Gods love all around us and knowing that He will always take care of us. Mrs. McLain taught us a wonderful song about Jesus. Parents are always welcome to join us for chapel!
The weather was beautiful for our Trike-a-Thon, and we were glad to know that our efforts were helping the children at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. After we completed our laps, we had a surprise treat of ice cream and cookies. Yum! Thanks to all those who donated to this very worthy cause---every dollar makes a difference!

Graduation Update
It is almost time for our Graduation Program! Graduation ceremonies for all students who will be entering kindergarten in 2012 will be held in the MAC on Wednesday, May 23 at 7:00. If you would like to submit an ad to honor your graduate in a special edition of our newsletter, please note that the ads should be a total of 15 words or less, and the cost is $5.00 per ad. The deadline for submitting your tributes is Friday, May 4. The deadline for submitting pictures for the graduation DVD is April 20.
