    The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU Council of the Muslim Theologians) and the Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL) notes with deep concern the misinformed and misleading statement made by Hon. M.L.A.M. Hizbullah - Deputy Minister of Child Development & Women's Affairs at the meeting with Rev. Inamaluwa Thero on the 23rd of April 2012 in Dambulla. He claims that the Dumbulla Khairiya Jumma Mosque was not damaged by the mob led by some Buddhist monks which has received wide publicity in the local media. This statement of Hon. Hizbullah is totally false and misleading. The entire nation witnessed the damaged caused to the mosque through the media. Video and photographic evidence of the damage is also available on youtube and the internet.

    We urge Hon. Hizbullah to make necessary inquiries, look at the video and photographic evidence and issue a clarification to his statement immediately. Failure to present the true picture by Hon. Hizbullah will compel the community to assume that he is working with ulterior motives to undermine the Muslim community.
