AFRUCA Africans Unite Against Child Abuse Vacancies Members, AFRUCA Council of Elders

Africans Unite against Child Abuse (AFRUCA) was established in May 2001 as a platform for advocating for the welfare of African children following the deaths of a number of newly-arrived children in the UK. It became a registered Charity in July 2002 and a Company Limited by Guarantee in October 2002 with a Board of Directors appointed to run the organisation. AFRUCA prides itself as the premier charity promoting the welfare of African children in the UK. We are establishing a Council of Elders to help strengthen our community engagement opportunities and enable us to be more responsive to the needs of African communities, parents and children in the UK. AFRUCA wants to retain and gain from the spiritual guidance, sage advice, life and work experiences of the Elders of the African Communities by appointing them to the Council of Elders. The Council will act in an advisory capacity and as a sounding board for new ideas and developments in AFRUCA. We would like to invite applicants who would fulfil at least one or more of the following qualifying criteria. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. be acknowledged as an African by his/her origin have an exemplary lifestyle be a spiritual leader be a recognised community leader and/or a community activist be 18 years and above
