My children, we should love people, not only with words and talk but by our actions and true caring. 1 John 3.18
This week we will continue with our reading of Johnny Tremain and continue to work on the themes found in this book. Everyone is working hard on the short story assigned in writing class and should be finished by the end of this week. We will continue with our unit on conservation and finish a short section on U.S. government before starting the unit on the American civil war. We have only a few short weeks left before the end of this year ... lets make the best of it. The school wide theme for CAJ next year is Doing Hard Things. There is an art contest connected with this each year. If your child would like to participate, have her/him pick up an application form from the academic office. The deadline is May 21. Parents of students in ESL: The summer study contract was due on Friday, April 27. It is now over due so please send this in as soon as possible.

Camp Your child will be bringing home information for the camp this week. Please make sure s/he has everything needed. If you require a sleeping bag, please let me know. I want to make sure each child has one and know where s/he got it so it can be returned to the owner after the camp. Thank you for your help.
