Abstract

The project is based on the use of various frequencies over a microstrip array antenna. Microstrip array antennas are used in applications where size, weight, cost and ease of installation are required. These antennas are low-profile and conformable to both planar and non-planar surfaces. Antenna characteristics are also dependent of dielectric parameters. It is used in order to achieve higher gain. The larger number of antenna elements; the better gain of antenna array is achieved. In our project we are designing 2*2 microstrip array antenna. Here we will be using HFSS(high frequency simulation software)/IE3D at a particular frequency for measuring the various parameters such as radiation pattern, directivity, etc. At the same time we will implement a 2*2 microstrip array antenna hardware at the same frequency. This hardware will be connected to VECTOR NETWORK ANALYSER for measuring the same parameter as above. If both the above parameter is same then the project is successful. This project will be useful in improving the signal quality, so frequency used by us is 16 GHZ , which is useful in radar, aircraft, marine, etc.
