Hydrogen Engine

Due to the fact that petroleum is about to end within a few years, scientists had been investigating in new engines fed by new power sources like hydrogen, which is more environmentally friendly. Hydrogen fuel is not an energy source because it doesnt occur naturally on Earth, but is an energy carrier, and it can be produced from water by a process called waters electrolysis. Lets see how this engine works.

First of all the fuel, in this case hydrogen, is introduced in the engine by an electronically controlled injector while, through the intake port, air is sucked in. Then the mixture of hydrogen and air is compressed as the rotor rotates in the clockwise. Afterwards, once that the mixture has been put under high pressure two spark plugs ignite the mixture causing the rotor to move again. When the rotor reaches one point, an exhaust port is opened allowing the gas produced during the combustion to escape. The rotor keeps rotating and the process starts one more time.
