Roanoke VA Chapter of the American Sewing Guild

Date: Wednesday, May 23, 2012 Time: 9 am to 2 pm (come when you can and stay only as long as you want) Place: Sally Rodgers home 6454 Corntassel Lane Roanoke VA 24018 Lunch: Bring a snack or lunch if you will be here at lunch time.

This group is made up of guild members and friends and we lovingly construct and then smock angel gowns that are donated to Carillon and Lewis Gale Hospitals labor and delivery units and to their Neonatal Intensive Care units. They are given to families who have suffered an infant loss and they use them for bereavement gowns. At the workshops Sally provides sewing machines, sergers, and all sewing notions that are needed and we construct the gowns assembly style and then they are smocked by members of the smocking group. MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK.
