Shoulder and Scapula- week 5 Objectives: After completion of the lab, students will be able to: 1) Demonstrate accurate palpation of bony landmarks of the scapula, clavicle, and humerus. 2) Demonstrate accurate palpation of rotator cuff and bicep tendons. 3) Demonstrate correct identification of soft tissue structures attaching to the scapula, clavicle, and humerus. 4) Demonstrate accurate goiniometric measurement of glenohumeral motion. 5) Recall normal ROM for the glenohumeral motions. Palpation: Bony palpation: Scapula 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) Clavicle 8) Distal end and acromioclavicular joint 9) Body 10) Proximal end and sternoclavicular joint Humerus 11) Greater tuberosity 12) Lesser tuberosity 13) Bicipital groove Soft Tissue 14) Supraspinatus belly and tendon 15) Infraspinatus and Teres Minor bellies and tendons 16) Bicep belly and tendon *Refer to the chart on your pre-lab for pertinent soft tissue structures attaching to the bony structures above. You should memorize these as they will be very important to your working knowledge in all future orthopaedic coursework.
