How To Increase Your Internet Connection Speed

It is possible to gain an extra 20% of bandwidth out of your internet connection. By default Windows XP, Windows Vista and also Windows 7 reserve 20% of your Internet speed for use by services like windows update and other programs that require frequent internet access. This limit is configurable from Group policy Object Editor. When we set this value to 0, the reserved 20% will be added to your browsing and download speed. Below are the configuration steps:

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Start -> Run -> GPEdit.msc Expand the Administrative Templates under Computer Configuration Expand the Network tab Select QoS Packet Scheduler Click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth Enable the check box Change the Bandwidth limit to 0% Start -> Run -> "gpupdate /force" Or restart your computer
