Experiment name: Introduction communication using digital signal.

Objective:

to

fiber

optical

To measure the intensity of red, green, infrared light wave length. To study the banding loss of the red, green and infrared light.

Resource/module use:

Fiber optics communication Lab-volt (91025). Optical Fiber (Multimode). Digital Multi-meter.

Lab Procedure:
The block of Fiber optics communication Lab-volt (91025), that we used in the lab experiment are shown below

First we took an optical fiber cable .Then we connect that with LED (Light emitting diodes) to photo transistor, where LED is transmitter portion and the photo transistor is the receiver portion. In the LED there are three kinds of light: Red, Green and Infrared .we connect the optical fiber cable respectively to red, green and infrared to photo transistor. Then we connect the digital multi-meter ground to the block ground and positive cable between HI LO and measure the Voltage label.

Observed Data:
light Red

We measure the voltage in two ways; first we measure voltage with keeping the cable unbends, then we measure the voltage with keeping the cable bends.

Discussion:

After completing this Lab we able to learnt about how to measure the banding loss of different wave length in optical fiber, but due to lab-volt problem we cannot connect the fiber perfectly so we cannot get the perfect value, though we take to take perfect value as possible.
