Bearded Beanie

Basic Beanie You can use any basic beanie pattern you like for the top. You can change yarn for stripes, or skip the color changes and use one color. Heres what I did: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Using main color - Ch3, 11 dc in first ch, sl st in top of ch 3. 12 dc Ch3, 2 dc in each st, sl st in top of ch 3. 24 dc Ch3, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st* around, dc in joining st below, sl st in top of ch 3. 36 dc Ch3, *dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st* around, dc in joining st below, sl st in top of ch 3. 48 dc Change to large stripe color - Ch3, *dc in next 3 st, 2 dc in next st* around, dc in joining st below, sl st in top of ch 3. 60 dc 6. Change to small stripe color - Ch1, sc in same st and in each st around, sl st in first sc. 7. Change to large stripe color Ch3, dc in each st around, sl st in top of ch 3 8. Change to main color repeat row 7 9. Repeat row 7 10. Change to large stripe color repeat row 7 11. Change to small stripe color repeat row 7 12. Change to large stripe color - Ch2, FPdc in each st around, sl st to top of ch 2 13. Repeat row 12 14. Change to main color repeat row 12 15. Repeat row 12, finish off Beard 1. Ch 35, sc in second ch from hook and in each st across. 34 sc 2. Ch1, turn, sc across 3. Add a strand of Fun Fur eyelash yarn if desired. Ch1, turn, sc dec over first 2 st, sc to last 2 st, sc dec 4. Ch 1, turn, sc dec over first 2 st, sc to last 2 st, sc dec 5. Ch 1, turn, sc in next 5 st, hdc in next st, dc in next 18 st, hdc in next st, sc in last 5 st 6. Repeat row 5 7. Ch 1, turn, sc in next 8 st, sc dec over next 2 st, dc in next 10 st, sc dec over next 2 st, sc in next 8 sc 8. Ch 1, turn, sc in next 7 st, sc dec over next 2 st, dc in next 10 st, sc dec over next 2 st, sc in next 7 st 9. Ch 1, turn, sc in next 8 st, hdc in next st, ch 8, skip 8 st, hdc in next st, sc in next 8 st 10. Ch 1, turn, sc dec over first 2 st, sc in next 5 st, 3 dc in next st, 8 hdc over ch, 3 dc in next st, sc in next 5 st, sc dec in last 2 st. finish off 11. Turn, join yarn with sl st in sixth st, sc in next 14 st, sl st in next st, finish off Finishing Sew row ends of beard to bottom edge of beanie making sure it is spaced evenly between the two sides.
