Algebraic Expression

Algebraic Expression
An algebraic expression is defined as the expression of constants or numbers ,
variables and also the combination of two or more values that are combined with
mathematical operations like addition or subtraction or multiplication or division or
exponents or roots etc.
Here we can explain the algebraic expression with the help of Algebraic Expressions
Examples as :2 a + b or 3 c 2 + 2 c + 3 or 13 e or 12 / d or r / 8 etc.+
An algebraic expression is evaluated by putting the values at the place of the
variables in the given equations with the number that is given and then perform the
defined operation.
Finding the values of an expression means finding the answer by evaluating the given
expression.
Different kinds of Algebraic expressions examples are discussed as follows :

Example no. 1 : Calculate the value at x = 15 of the expression 10 * x.

Answer : At x = 15 , put the value of x in expression 10 * x = 10 * 15 = 150 .
So the answer of this expression is 150.
Example no. 2 : Calculate the value of a given expression 5 * a + a = ? ( a = 3 )
Answer : In the given expression at the given value of a = 3 , expression is written as
5 * 3 + 3 = 15 + 3 = 18 .
In the above example when we put the value of a = 3 in the expression it is first
multiplied with 5 as 5 * 3 = 15 and then 3 is added in 15 as 15 + 3 = 18 , so 18 is the
answer of the given expression at the value of a = 3.
Example no 3 : Calculate the value of given algebraic equations y = x / 5 , z = y / 2
and then x * z
at point x = 20 .
Answer . At point x = 20 , y = 20 / 5 = 4
y = 4 so , z = 4 / 2 = 2
z = 2 then x * z = 20 * 2 = 40 .
So the answers of the above algebraic expressions are dependent on each other.

The above example can also be evaluated by another method that is known as the
replacement method as:
y = x / 5 , z = y / 2 and x * z then
x * z = 20 * y / 2 ( put the value of z = y / 2 )
x * z = 20 * ( x / 5 * 2 ) ( put the value of y = x / 5 )
then x * z = 20 * ( 20 / 10 ) = 20 * 2
x * z = 40 answer.
