Echoes of Ether

(Cattiveria , Obfuscate ) Through the centuries the Sangiovanni have practiced the art of necromancy. Many within the family ranks focus near exclusively on this dark and forbidden art. None more so though, than those of the families own black ring. Through intense study and practice, founding family of the dark coven of necromancers have learned to draw forth bits of the ethereal world of spirits. In the spirit world lies echoes of the real world, especially those echoes that involve the most violent of actions. Through a combination of drawing forth that violence tainted ether, and the subtle visual hallucinations provided by Obfuscate, the Necromancer may "play back" the echoes of violence and death in the living world. These echoes though, were never meant to be seen by either man or vampire... nor any being that still clings to life, no matter how close to death they may be. Cost: 1 Vitae (per minute of the image to be replayed), 1 Willpower per roll Dice Pool: Strength + Crafts + Cattiveria Action: Extended Through raw immortal strength the necromancer pulls forth from the world of the dead a portion of ethereal substance, manipulating and empowering it. Rather than molding it for use in healing though, the Necromancer leaves the ether half way between the worlds, visible here and still writhing it's echoes of violence and death on the other side. These images though, the mind shattering visage of death itself spilling through were never meant to be viewed. Not by those still alive. At the time of activation, the ether will replay the scene of death that is stored within it. The images of those involved are hazy and obfuscated by their own beasts. Visions of their beasts captured along with their own visage, overlaid. The more ones beast has hold over them the less distinguished and more monstrous their features are. The images coming through are hazy, blurred by the entropic consuming force of the afterlife, a snarling hungry ever shifting bestial image. The echo scene lasts for 1 minute per success rolled and does not capture sound, it is purely visual. The time starts from the moment of death; the killing blow and works itself backwards in minutes. This is where the scene would then begin its "playback". Upon activation of the devotion, those in its presence are immediately made aware of what is about to happen (a window into death will be revealed). Swirling ethereal forms flit about, none truly distinguishable, none capable of interaction (they are not ghosts or spirits, just ether). Those wishing at that time, to look deeper into the visage of death will be made aware, every minute they choose to focus and watch the scene replay, they suffer a lethal wound. This will allow them to see the scene, but not make out clearly who is involved, their beast being all that is visible. Optionally, a viewer can open themselves fully to the image, witnessing the horror for what it really is. By accepting an aggravated damage for every minute they watch the scene, they can see the images clearly, unobstructed by the beast. Anybody may stop viewing at anytime they wish, only suffering the

damage for the amount of time they have viewed the scene (Damage occurs at the start of each minute). One cannot be compelled supernaturally to view the scene, it must be done of your own free will. Those not focused on the scene are unobstructed by the wisp-like display and are unaware of its vision. The devotion activator must stay for the period of the entire vision taking the damage for the entire duration. If the spiritual resonance/echoes have been masked through devotions such as Scramble or Cleansing Impressions, the extended roll is contested by the number of successes rolled on the before mentioned devotions. This power costs 12 experience points to learn.

Eyes of the Dead

(Auspex , Cattiveria ) This devotion allows the user's senses to be extended into a zombie. Cost: 1 Vitae Dice Pool: Intelligence + Occult + Cattiveria Action: Instant With a successful activation of this devotion, the user chooses a zombie he has created via Cattiveria and transfers his senses from his own body to that of the target. The targeted zombie must be within a range of (user's Blood Potency x 5) miles of the user. The user may see, hear, smell, and taste as the zombie does, but the sense of touch does not transfer. While using his target's senses, his own senses do not function. The connection is sensory only, and does not allow for control of the zombie, speech via its mouth, etc. It will not stack with other Cattiveria usage. The user may not be targeted via the zombie, and does not suffer any damage dealt to the zombie he is "riding". He may switch targets as desired for the remainder of the scene (if additional qualified zombies are within range) at the cost of an additional Vitae. At Storyteller discretion, if the zombie commits an act that would normally cause the user to suffer from a degeneration roll, the user must roll as if he committed the sin himself. This power costs 18 experience points to learn.

Homunculus
(Cattiveria , Animalism ) The Sangiovanni can construct a tiny, autonomous servitor from the bodies of dead men. These servitor creatures appear as grotesque insects or deformed homunculi, and can be exceedingly useful as spies. Cost: 1 Vitae Dice Pool: Dexterity + Crafts + Cattiveria Action: Instant (The act of building a Homunculus takes hours, of course, but the actual roll and expenditure that occurs at the end of that period is considered an instant action.) Roll Results Dramatic Failure: The character builds and animates the creature, but it goes berserk and attacks him. Failure: The character is left with an inanimate lump of rotting castoffs.

Success: The creature comes to life and obeys the characters spoken commands to the best of its ability and is able to verbally relate to its creator what it sees and does. Exceptional Success: Not only does the character create a Homunculus, he may link his perceptions to its seeing, hearing, smelling and tasting what it does. The character sacrifices awareness of his own surroundings, but is able to give the creature telepathic orders over any distance. Rolls to notice events transpiring in the vicinity of the vampires body suffer a -3 penalty, and he can do nothing else when sensing through his creation. A creature animated by this power travels with an eerie hopping gait, can climb walls like a spider and can speak in a tiny, hissing voice. Its traits are the same as those for a homunculus, listed on p. 225 of Vampire: The Requiem, with the following exceptions. The creation remains active for an entire night, breaking down into its component corpse parts as soon as the sun rises. This duration can be extended to the next time it sees the sun by spending a dot of Willpower. It is as intelligent as the character who created it, capable of understanding conditional spoken orders, and capable of acting on its own out of selfpreservation. A creature is also loyal to the Sangiovanni who creates it, and control cannot be usurped by another user of Cattiveria. Mind-affecting Disciplines such as Animalism and Dominate do not work on a servant, nor does the Telepathy power of Auspex. The creature is largely unaffected by Nightmare and Majesty, but is unable to resist the effects of the Sovereignty power. It is also unable to penetrate the veil of Obfuscate. Additional Vitae expenditures may increase any of a creations Physical Attributes by one dot per Vitae. A creatures actions can be determined by the Storyteller to the players specifications, or the Storyteller may allow the player to determine the creatures actions and make its dice rolls.

Restful Slumber
(Cattiveria , Resilience ) This power reflects the calm with which Sangiovanni rest. During the day, so long as the Kindred rests in soil or a coffin lined with soil, he rests perfectly and without pause. He awakens refreshed regardless of event and can even awaken from a state of near Torpor. So long as the Kindred has a single point of vitae, he can wake by spending two willpower instead of blood. In addition, if he does not spend Willpower to awaken, his Willpower is fully restored each Night, regardless of event. Nothing short of the most powerful rituals can undo this. Lastly, the Sangiovanni are less unnerved by the presence of the obscene and foul. The Nosferatu aura of menace does not repulse them, nor do they find it uncomfortable. Cost: Dice Pool: This power involves no roll, and is considered always on. The character may turn off this power if he wishes, but such is an all-or-nothing proposition. He may not turn off certain aspects of this power and keep others active. Action: N/A This power costs 10 experience points to learn.

Necrotic Sonar
(Auspex , Cattiveria ) Necromancers of the Sangiovanni family have always had the means to find and extract the corpses they need to create their unholy minions, but in times of hardship or in a pinch this devotion has helped many a necromancer find his minions or locate the bodies he needs to raise a few undead bodyguards. It allows the necromancer to "ping" the bodies of the dead and undead with supernatural sonar by concentrating on the resonance of the dead and undead bodies that are close by. Cost: 1 Vitae Dice Pool: Wits + Investigation + Cattiveria Action: Instant The supernatural sonar of the necromancer successfully "pings" any dead or undead bodies within 50 feet per success on the activation roll. This power will locate any dead or undead bodies that are buried up to 10 feet below the ground, unless protected by haven of soil, and locate any dead or undead bodies located on the surface of the ground that are not protected by obfuscate. Obfuscated corpses or undead zombies will flicker and jam this supernatural location sense, causing a clash of wills roll. Vampires are not detected by this devotion. This power costs 6 experience points to learn.
