SWBAT bowing styles at expected competency levels. AKS #5 SWBAT identify and play slurs and ties in short exercises in their books as well as in orchestra music. Slur, Tie, Pickup/Upbeat, String Crossing, WB and LH Play D and G major scales and arpeggios using slurs.

*Define Slurs and Ties on definition chart. *Compare and contrast slurs vs. ties *Essential Elements Book 1 - #'s 108-116 *Orchestra Expressions Book 1 - #'s 103-109 * As vocabulary comes up in the lesson have students write the words down in their definition charts. * Pick out parts of the orchestra music that have ties and slurs in it and work on those sections during this time.
