Effects of noise pollution

Hearing loss - is the most common problem faced by people exposed to high levels of
sound. It causes the ear drum to tear apart or the hair cells in the cochlea tissue creating
impulses damage. Sometimes even low noise, but constant sound causes this. It can be
compared to a rubber band which loses its elasticity on pulling every now and then. So,
hearing becomes low and cannot even be cured.
Stress - is due to the body responding by releasing lot of stress hormones when exposed to
noise. This causes chronic stress and reduces body's immunity causing many other
problems.
Annoyance - The simple face that people, and especially children can't bear noise causes
them to b irritable and then annoying. It makes people frustrated on small things.
Physiological disorders - These are because of the high stress levels and blood pressure.
Speech interference - Background noises cause the main speaker difficult to hear
Sleep interference - This is the worst part as it disturbs children's sleep cycles and disrupts
their memory. During sleep, all the glucose is used to register information in the long term
memory. If this is disrupted, the child can be mentally impaired and tired during day time.
