This is Our Time - Paula Bianca F.

De Jesus

After almost two decades of studying, we are finally smelling the sweet breeze of our victory, the graduation! Yes, we are definitely near and the pleasure of graduation has been our ultimate motivation. A pinch of laziness has no place now and no one has the right to be one. Why Legal Management? "Anak, kapag Legal Management ang kinuha mo, hindi ka madaling maloloko at maaagrabyado ng mga tao, maliban nga lang sa pag ibig." That's what my witty father, while drinking soda with him, told me when I was a senior highschool student and was thinking of what should I choose among the courses available and offered by Bulacan State University. Indeed, I was convinced..right away. No second thoughts, no objections, no doubts. I just feel like it. Four years after, I don't have any regrets. I have learned a lot. My father is right, I will not be fooled, betrayed and misled by people especially by those who knows the law. and right again, except for love matters. The hardship of studying is not always about passing the exam, meeting deadline for project, and sleeping late at night because we have to read like 100 pages for the recitation the following day. We must also consider a broken heart, head ache due to hang over, tardiness and a lot more. There will always be a time where ETC for us means End of Thinking Capacity.

For four years, we have encountered different professors. And yes we can definitely say that the difficulty of the subject somehow depends on them, on the way they teach and their willingness. At times, we took for granted temperate and considerate professors and curse those who embarrased us. But nevertheless, we learn. And that's all that counts.

College Graduation is a preparation of what we would like to be after formal schooling and for the rest of our lives, I must say. Graduation is never an end. Graduation is the beginning of another journey, a more complex journey. A journey where we can apply whatever we have learned. A journey where we can continue learning. A journey where one must stand independently and confidently. A journey where your dream is also the dream of others.

Memories will be kept forever. From our first step to the University up to our last. The moments where we cheat and allow our classmates to do so just to save them from failing. Our sleepless nights because of projects for our minor subjects. And the moments when we unite and do things for the same purpose.

College of Law. Whenever we are asked about that, seriously, no one answers. Maybe because we haven't think of it yet or we are just too shy to say that 'yes, we will.'

College of Law needs more focus, more study time and less gimiks and tambays. And that's what we are ought to do. Since our course is a preparatory for it, that's the first thing we have to consider right after graduation. We must consider all the options. We can also work after graduation.

What ever path we chose, we must stand for it. If one chooses to work, work hard. If one chooses to study again, be ready and prepared. If one chooses to do nothing, remove that from your option. Life is fast and short, do something productive and remarkable. Never waste anything. Especially time and talent. We are born to be something not nothing. We are all achievers, in different chances and instances. We must believe in ourselves and everyone will believe in us. Our lives depends on our own descretion and free will. If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it. - William Arthur Ward
