“A great teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others.“

We always have choices in our lives. Every single day we make a choice. From the moment we
wake up, thinking about going to school or not, deciding what to eat, and most especially to decide what
to do the moment we open our eyes. These choices somehow affect our future positively and
sometimes negatively. I do not believe in people saying they do not have a choice and that this is the
only way. People do have a choice, but are always afraid to accept the choices they chose. Every
decision has its own consequences and rewards and it is up to us how we deal with these things and be
able to overcome it.

While talking and discussing about choices, the very first thing that came into my mind was I,
enrolling in a course that is excessively far and different from my expected course. It was a battle
between my mind and heart, but in the end, we all agreed in choosing Education Course. It was not
easy, choosing between what I am passionate about and what I have called to do. I am future educator
by choice and I believe I have been called to do so. It was because I really had the chance to pursue Law
but then there is this thing inside that is telling me that there is something much more than defending
your clients in the court, and that is to teach. Choosing such profession is like choosing the right color
that best fits a drawn Sun. I believe I chose the right course because I enjoy every single discussions and
requirements like reading, writing, and especially presenting and speaking in front of the class. Although
it drains my energy and time, everything will always be worth it because I am happy and enjoying what I
do.

Teaching, as most of us define it as a noble profession. As a future educator myself, I really want
to witness the growth of my students and see how they will become successful citizens in the future. I
believe us, teachers, play an important role in every student. We are all called to teach each one’s
minds, touch their hearts, and just like a candle, it gives light that transform individual’s lives.
