This subject Oblicon stands for "Law on Obligations and Contracts." As its
name suggests, it talks about the law. The subject can somehow be overwhelming
with its numerous terminologies and principles as Sir Dico said this subject uses a
lot of jargons. As a student it is necessary for me to exert a lot of effort to survive
in this course but two months to be in this class, I already learned a lot of things.
Things that are not only related to the law but also the things that could be useful
and can be apply in our daily lives.
Let's face it. Nobody is perfect. It is not every day that we will be praised by
our professors or anyone at all. We will say silly things and wrong answers and
out of which, we could receive words and raised eyebrows yet we must acquire
those things as our inspiration to do better. People will question our abilities,
knowledge and skills. Yet, it is okay. It is okay to make mistakes.
We all have good and bad days and sometimes, every day is a bad day but
we should not make the wrong assumption that making mistakes is a sign of
weakness or dumbness. Mistakes are simply roadblocks or bridges which are
made to make us stronger. Honestly I had nervous in every oblicon meetings, I
was so disappointed and frustrated with myself because I knew that I could do
better. I knew that I was above that so I just let myself drown with frustration in a
day. I tried to shake myself and put nervous away but it won't disappear. I had no
choice but to face it and I faced it. I blamed myself for that disastrous Oblicon
class but after which, I decided to just let it go. It already happened and nothing
could change that fact.
When you have a lot of articles to read, to understand and to memories, and
at the day of examination it was like everything is shuffling specially the different
requisites, it is very easy to conclude that it is impossible to finish the reading
assignments. Well, the reassuring truth is that it is possible to read a lot of
articles. All we have to do is to manage our time but it really requires a lot of time
to read again and again to be able to understand these articles of it really mean.
Understanding the articles is enough and one thing I learned from that is to know
what you already know and understand everything by heart is when you feel like
vomiting them, I always relate myself to what I am reading. The principle made
me curious but it helped me a lot. Because of my hectic schedule and assignments
from my other 5 major subjects there's always a time that other assignments
overrides oblicon. In our class in every meeting our professor gives oral.
Lastly, Oblicon opened my eyes to the good side of law. I was able to
understand the different rights we have and the circumstances wherein we could
benefit from them. For me studying law is scary, yes it is but once you would be
able to understand the lessons, especially when you enter in the very prepared
the. Studying law is exciting. It is depressing at first yet you'll enjoy it once you
understand the lesson. It is actually exciting with all of the different situations
given to you to scrutinize.
Also, it is a plus factor when you know your law because you could relate it
to the current issues going on in and out of country. It would also protect us from
the scammers and liars who can defraud and take advantage of us. I have learned
that ignorance of the law is not accepted as an excuse to the court, that's why an
individual should know and have learnings on law for them to know their right as
a person.
Therefore I conclude that sometimes we need to set aside things we're into
for us to give more attention and focus more on necessary and important things.
Just like us, as student it is important for us to prioritize our studies than going on
a travel, or we must put study first before social media because social media is
very common in our generation, and somehow it is a of the fact that we waste
most of our time in socializing while given our studies lesser time. It is also helpful
for us to discourage our "mamyana" attitude and start to develop the always on
the go, ready attitude.
Before entering into this course, I have thought that it would be easy for me
to adopt the different subject belong to this field, but I was wrong I have enter in
this kind of course where everyone is in difficulties, everyone feel pressured
because of the project and requirements specially in law, but an individual can
lessen its difficulties if we read and read and read with understanding. According
to Sir Dico in order for us to survive the law and accountancy, we must read books
many, many times, and if possible memories everything on it. Life is not easy, life
is difficult and for us to survive we must embrace the fact that we need to make a
move and action to lessen the difficulties of the life we have.
