Language Arts
In language arts we will be reading: Plaidypus Lost We will also begin using the childrens names to explore the letters. We will be focusing on Letters: F & G. We will learn the names, sounds, and learn to write these letters. We will begin working on Rhyming, please work with your children at home by playing rhyming games, such as having them come up with a word that rhymes.

Saxon Math

Saxon 1: We will be learning about shapes, and creating designs with shapes, as well as beginning to learn addition and subtraction with some, some more and some, some went away. Saxon K: We will be exploring pattern blocks and creating shapes with patterns blocks. We will be learning about shapes which is a precursor to geometry.

Social Studies/Science
This week we will continue our character ed and learn about contributing. Because contributing in our society is such a huge thing, we are going to be doing a service project this week. By Wednesday we are accepting donations for Utah Valley Hospital childrens unit. These donations need to be: New Crayons, New Coloring Books and small stuffed animal. Please have your child help you. The dollar store is a great place to get these things. On Wednesday the children will be making get well cards to put on these items, and we will send these things to the hospital for the sick children there.

We will be working with your child on writing both uppercase and lowercase G and H. Make sure they are starting from the top. We will also continue and working on our numbers.

SEPs are next week. Please do not miss your appointment and if you havent sent back your yellow paper, please do. I need to know who I may need to reschedule. NO KINDERGARTEN ON THE 20th and the 21st. We have a field trip to the pumpkin patch coming up in October. More information later.
