INTRODUCTION Automobile Industry is the fastest growing techno-innovative automobile front in the global arena. Human interaction with transportation and infrastructure built from time to time as improved quality of technological developments. The standard of living, embedded with luxury and comfort as further contributed to a booming market. New scientific techniques adopted in day to day living have led to discoveries to launch in successfully in to next millennium. The pre-millennium has turned out to be most important phase for the automobile industry. Competitive focus have created between the industries. As we wines a rapid development industry and economically, which lead to more and more demand depends on transportation for the goods and people to teach the destination. We realize the need of axles globally and locally in our day-today life. The applicability of axles is wide spread. A born in automobile industry implies that, all the related segment too are booming. Its in respect of axle industry also. In the world majority of transportation takes place through surface transport. Nearly 70-80% of transportation in the world account for surface transportation. Most people like travel through road because of convince and lesser cost than other transportation mode. Increase the population standard of living necessitate demand for vehicles like TWO-WHEELERS, LCVs, HCVs etc. India is one of the fast developing countries, increase in population and industrialization creates great demand for transportation. In turn there will be boom for automobile and axles industries.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE OF AUTOMOTIVE AXLE LTD.


The concept of organization followed in Automotive Axle Ltd. Flat Organization Here the span of control is usually large and there are few ladders, in formed organization hierarchy. There are 5-6 steps from top management to the bottom. Supervision in more generalized and there is great diffusion of delegation of authority upward and downward. This organization with fewer levels and wider span of control yield a less complex organization system. This wide span of supervision forces management to delegate the authority. In addition, delegation, the flattering techniques possess a better trained management team, shorted communication network and it had reduced the administrative between the levels of management. The organization has been divided in to following departments which are related to particular specialized function. PRODUCTION DEPERTMENT
Production is any process development to transform a set of inputs like man, machine, material, money, management, minute, and method into a specified set of out puts like finished products and services in proper quantity, thus achieving the objectives of enterprises. The production process is depicted in the figure.

Production may be mathematically as output over a period of time. I.e.., Output/Time. The units of production are tins, meters, numbers etc.

Input: The following inputs are used in the production system of Automotive Axle Ltd 1. Man: The Fatal manpower of the company is around 3000 workers and out of them 440 are executing. 2. Machine: Different types of machines necessary for the production of tyres get from Germany, France. 3. Material: The raw material and other consumables materials are natural rubbers, synthetic rubber, wax, nylon fabrics, latex and sulphate and other chemicals etc. 4. Money: Initially capital was Rs. 800 cores and later on Rs. 270 cores was spent on the company. Output: 1. Bias tyres for trucks, jeeps, buses, bullock costs. 2. All street radial tyres for trucks and busses 3. Tubes for tyres. Types of Intermittent Production Intermittent system of production can be further classified into two categories. 1. Job Production 2. Batch Production Job Production: Job or make complete production is the production of single complete unit by one operator of a group of patters. Here whole project is considered as one operation and work is completed on each product before passing on to the next.

Batch Production: Here items are processed in lots of batch and new batch is under taken for production only when the work on all items of a batch is complete. In fact batch type production can be considered as an extension of job type system.

Inventory Control.
Production manager is supposed to have control over the cost of production by reducing the wastage if man and material. So he is to make the best use of material. For this purpose he has to determine the economic lot size, economic order quantity. Or ere levels so that the problems of over the problems of over and under stock of materials may not arise.

Plant layout Material Handling:


Plant layout is an arrangement of machines and equipment in such as it production uninterruptedly. As efficient plant layout aims at efficient material handling which in turn reduced wastage if nab and material an helps in reducing the cost of production. Work Measurement: One of the responsibility of the production manager is to control tend reduced the labour cost per unit. At different levels of production the labour cost per unit differs. Here work measurement is necessary. By work measurement methods we mean the level of performance by the worker.

PLANT LAYOUT:
Broadly means the arrangement and location of different department and of the machinery and equipment with in a department. It involves the allocation of space and the arrangement of equipment is such a manner that overall operation cost are minimized. Material Handling: Material handling is the art and science involved in the movements packing and storing of substances in many from. Material handlings are convened with: Movement Time Quality Space. Movement: Material handling expert are primarily convened with how materials reach are the operator and how finished or processed articles are removed from the work area. Time: Material handling must ensuring that no production process are customer are need will be hampered by having materials arrive on location to late or too early. Quality: Material handling must ensure that each location continually receives the correct quality parts or raw material etc. Space: Space requirements are generally influenced by the material handling flow pattern. Storage of raw material parts and semi-finished of finished products involves material handling.

Exploring new ideas and techniques to provide best quality materials. Maintaining good relation with customers. To co-ordinate with inter-departments like production, purchase, planning, etc.
