Admiral John C. Harvey, Jr. Alumni Award Nominations

We are currently accepting nominations for this years Admiral John C. Harvey, Jr. Alumni Award to be presented at The Williams Schools Heroes Among Us program on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 5:00 pm at the Town Point Club, Norfolk, Virginia. Our featured speaker will be Kay Coles James, advisor to US Presidents and reformer of the Virginia welfare system. Alumni who are 21 or older are welcome and encouraged to join us at this event. Williams School alumni may nominate themselves or another alumnus/alumna for this award. Candidates should exemplify the qualities possessed by Admiral Harvey as described: The Admiral John C. Harvey, Jr. Alumni Award will be presented annually to the Williams School alumnus or alumna who personifies the character traits nurtured by The Williams School and modeled by Admiral John C. Harvey, Jr., : Integrity Honor Courage Commitment Service to others and Service to ones community and country If you know a graduate of The Williams School who fits the above description, please feel free to nominate him/her either via email to ejustesen@thewilliamsschool.org or by using the page on our website (http://www.thewilliamsschool.org/alumni/AlumniAward.cfm). No School Parent Conference Day Featuring a trip to

The Virginia Air & Space Center for a program

entitled Space Freeze, a guided tour and a visit to the Clifford exhibit! Space Freeze explores the effects of extremely cold temperatures on different types of matter using fun demonstrations. Departure from campus is at 9:15am. We will take a snack with us to enjoy at the air and space center and return to school between 1:00and 1:30pm for lunch and an afternoon of activities.

-*Reservations are required, by calling 627-1383 x241. If the minimum enrollment of 8 is not reached by Monday, January 15, 2013 at 10:00am, the following sliding scale applies per child if 3- 7 children are enrolled: 3 children - $95.00, 4 children - $75.00, 5 children - $60.00, 6 children - $55.00, 7 children - $50.00. -All fees are included for any off campus field trips, crafts, lunch, and snack. -By enrolling your child in Camp Williams, you are giving your permission for your child to attend the listed on and off campus activities. -Camp Williams staff may be reached on the Extended Day cell phone, 237-1875 or on Chris Coopers phone, 434-0614 at all times during the day. -If you wish your child to have sun screen or insect repellant, please fill out the Medication Administration Form and send the product and the form in with your child on the day or days of enrollment. Forms are available from the front office, Extended Day or the website. -Please let us know if you will not be able to drop your child off by departure time, as there is no available care for your child at school.
