Dear Nai Tuck, How are you?__________________________________ not since I last wrote in January, in fact. I hope you are all right and that your silence doesn't mean that you have been ill. What have you been doing these days? I suppose that, like me, most of your time is taken up with revision for the examinations. I seem to have been revising the same things ever since December. Last month, we had the Mid-Year Examinations and I was fifth in class. Mr Wong, my form teacher, says I should try harder as I obtained only three distinctions and four credits. He feels that ________ ________________________________________ in the PMR examinations. I felt really happy when I heard that. ___________________________________________________. Guess what? My father got a promotion recently. He is no longer Assistant Manager. Now, he is the Branch Manager of Lee Bank, Seremban. We were all ____________________________________. Of course, his salary has increased, too. Therefore, Father says he will take us on a holiday after the PMR examinations. We have always wanted to go to Pulau Langkawi but it was just too expensive for the whole family. Now, we can afford it. Isn't that great? I met Mohan last week. He's doing very well in his new school. He _________________________. He is no longer the noisy, fun-loving person we used to know. He seems to be quieter and more serious. He doesn't spend much time on games any more. In fact, he has given up playing for the state football teamwhich I feel is a real waste. He says he wants to concentrate on his studies. Mohan wants to be a doctor and he __________________________ if he wants to get a scholarship. As you know, his family is not well-to-do. His father told him that if he wishes to further his education, he would have to get a scholarship. I hope _____________________________________. He is a very nice person and will make an excellent doctor. Well, I have to stop now. I have plenty of work to do. Please do write to me if you have the time. I ___________________________________. Without you and Mohan in school, life seems so boring. Best Wishes, Wai Meng
