Explanation/Evidence:
I believe I am of competitive nature not because I want to win everything. I think it is
because I always want to improve, give my best and never give up. Whether it was
academics, sports or any extracurricular activity. Like when I was class 7, I
participated in swimming fest for first time. I was not hoping to win anything. I was
there just for participation. But I ended up getting 2nd place in the final, in which all
finalist was of class 10 except me. I could have just given up but I competed with
them.

I think hard work describes me best. I went from failing in maths to getting A*. My
brain just didn’t become intelligent. I worked hard for that. I practiced every past
papers from 2016 to 2022. I was always seeking help from my friends and teacher.

I am an emotional person. I think I can understand someone else sentiment by putting
myself in their position. I always overthink and end up having weird thoughts. I know
when to joke or what to joke without hurting someone else feeling.

What interests you?

I am a visual learner. I can understand relatively easily when certain things are presented in graph or
through video. It is easier to remember information through graphs and diagrams. When I can relate the
information to the practical world, it interests me. It becomes fun when you know you are learning about
the real world not only the textbook.

• a) What are your personal strengths? Briefly, explain why you think so.
I believe my personal strength is the willingness to stay out of the comfort zone to achieve my
aim. I was willing to sacrifice some sleep for study and I did. I love eating food but at one point I
was extremely over
weight. So I decided to lose some weight. At beginning, it was hard but I didn’t give up. 4
months later, I was at my normal weight again. So when I am passionate about something, I am
willing to do everything to achieve that.
 b) What are your personal weaknesses? Explain briefly.
I am very addictive to video games which I find to be my weakness not because it is
harmful or a bad thing. It’s because I tend to spend way too much time in it. As a result, I
didn’t have time for study and family. My addiction got worse during covid-19 outbreak. I
was in my room all day grinding games which was fun at that time. But looking back it was
the worst. Not only I wasted my whole year of As level, I barely have communication with
my family members. Only the time I went out of my room was for meal
• a) What are your academic strengths and why? (Among the High School Subjects)
My academic strength is Maths because I always find it fun to solve those problems. And
whenever I got stuck in some problem, I can get instant help from my friend. Although I can
get help for other subjects too, they are too subjective. Whereas in Maths, I know if I am
right or wrong. Furthermore, I get that satisfaction after solving some problems, which
motivates me to practice more.

b) What are your academic weaknesses and why? (Among the High School Subjects)
English language is my weakness whether it is speaking or writing. I think the main
reason behind weakness is I didn’t read enough. I didn’t try to communicate in English with
teachers or anyone because I was always afraid what others might think. As a result, there
was no improvement in my English.

c) Explain briefly how you have overcome or will overcome your major weaknesses.
Personal: (Measures taken to overcome personal weaknesses):

My first measure would be to minimize my playing time which I have. Playing for some time is not
necessary a bad thing. But when I again start to play more often, I will simply uninstall the application.
I will try to have more conversation with family members. I will get myself involve in any family matter.

Academic: (Measures taken to overcome personal weaknesses):

I know my mistakes. I need to develop a habit of reading. I want reading to be a part of my normal
activity not as a task. I know developing new habit is a hefty task but not impossible. I have already
started reading in morning for 40 – 50 minutes. I just need to do it on a consistent basis.

• What has been your favorite class/lesson? Explain why.

 Economics has been favorite class because I find it way too much relatable than any other
subject. Economics is a broad subject that includes vast topic from politics to geography. I find
economics in every part of my life whether it is about the choice I made or the price I pay for
goods.

• What are your current career goals and plan?

I current goal is to get admission in university with handsome scholarship.

• What do you hope to accomplish in college and after? Consider your career goals and your
broader goals.
I hope to finish my bachelor in economics major in college.

• What are your future career goals, how do you plan to accomplish them?
I am planning to persuade my career in economic field.

• What are the things you want a college admissions committee to know about you? Give

I want college committee to know about my participation in sports, dance, arts, music and how
hard working I am.

• What makes you a unique individual/ what makes you different from others?
I think my ability to understand someone else feeling makes me a unique individual. I am a very
sensitive person. I know what might hurt others’ sentiment and make them cheerful when they
are at their worst.

Dance competition will always have a soft spot in my heart. It was of the grand activity of

BNKS. Nothing beats the rivalry, competitiveness, hard work of dance competition. Everyone

gets the chance to showcase their talent. I still remember the night when we were all sleepy and

tired but still want to continue practicing. The feeling of performing in front of whole school was

inexplicable.

• What have been your major contributions to the clubs? (Write about what you did rather than

• What would you describe as your most personally rewarding experience during high school?
Explain why you think so.
Wining any inter house competition was so much rewarding not because we won and we
were better. It’s because it brings unity and positive vibes in the house. And when we win, we
used to celebrate, sing, dance which brings us closer. Everyone used to cheer for their house
and give their best.

• Describe any experience that has had a deep impact on you.

When I failed in every subject in A1 exam, it had the greatest impact. I didn’t realize that I have
study and work hard. Until I had a deep thought about my future career, my parents working hard
to pay my fees and me disappointing them. I felt ashamed at that moment, not only I have wasted
my whole academic year, now I have to study more to recover everything. That incident
basically saved my career.

• What, if anything, would you do differently if you were to experience high school again?
I will definitely get myself involved in many club activities as possible. When the club and post
application was sent, I didn’t put my name in any clubs or post. I was too depressed at that time
because of my grade. Now my other mistake was my thinking why should I care about any club
when I am not the member. Now I realized I could have been supportive.

• Describe any outside schoolwork or volunteer experiences you have had during your high

I have been involved in tree plantation and cleaning campaigns.

• In your opinion, what is the best thing about BNKS?

The best thing about BNKS is definitely its diversity. I wouldn’t have known the language and
culture of people from far western to eastern. Even if I did know something, it would be from
text books or other resources, not from practical experience which I got in BNKS.

• What did you get out of BNKS and how will it play a part in shaping your future?
BNKS makes every individual independent. It helps in small detail of life skill like making bed,
dressing up, etc.

• Have you discussed College Planning Financial Consideration with your parents? If yes,
summarize below. (Mention possible parental contribution in the US $ per year)
I have discussed about college planning and financial consideration with my parents. They are
being supportive. They are willing pay approximately 10000 dollars per year

• What makes you a deserving candidate for a scholarship for your further studies?
I am a hardworking, sincere and honest student. I am willing participate in any study related
discussion, debate etc and give my opinion. Other than I am highly active in co-curricular
activity like sports, dance, music.

• Explain with evidence why you need substantial financial aid for your further studies.
My parents were paying up the loans. All the loans would have been cleared earlier but the
COVID-19 messed up everything financially. There is little saving as they have to pay up rent
and the food are expensive in Japan. My parents still have to pay fees and other study related
expenses of mine and my sister. They have send money for the household. So my parents are not
financially sound. Therefore, I need financial aid.

• Optional personal information: Admission to college and getting financial aid often is
affected by family circumstances and financial need. I can better advocate for you if I am
aware of any extenuating circumstances, which may affect your consideration for admission.
Is there any personal information on you or your family background that you think should be
shared with the counselor at this point?
As I told my family is not in good state financially. My both parents are in Japan. There is little
saving as everything is spent on paying loan, fees and other household. My mother is not a
healthy person. She has asthma and many other allergies. She could not be able to continue to
work for longer. So the only sources of earning would be my dad. Dad salary is not enough to
pay my tuition fees, sister school fees, mom’s treatment. So I believe I am in need of financial
aid.

I have participated in every sports competition in BNKS. Football has been my favorite sport so I spend on
average 1 hour a day. I have been selected in the school team which I am very proud of. I have won, lose
many times but I always know how to bounce back. I love also dancing. I got to teach my friends and
juniors which was an amazing experience.

• What do you consider your important activities outside of the school? List jobs, paid or
voluntary; religious activities; hobbies; travel; music; art; and drama. Include the number of
years of your involvement and the amount of time you spent on the activity weekly, and
explain why this activity was significant to you.

I have been learning cooking. My parents always told me that I will have difficulty if I don’t know how to
cook. So I have been trying. It is really confusing but I am giving my best. I am also helping some brothers
and sisters regarding Maths. I teach them for about 40 minutes.

• In or out of school, which awards and honors have you received? Which elected offices have
you held?
My first international trophy in swimming, which I got in Sangam Fest(India,Rajasthan). I have not won any
medal or trophy in swimming unitl then.

• What book(s) have had the greatest impact on you and why?

Goosebumps series had the greatest impact on me. It helped me develop a habit of reading
because it was remarkably interesting.

• Who is/are your most favorite author(s) and why? Write briefly.
Robert Kiyosaki is my favorite author. He has shared the stage with some of the world’s most influential
entrepreneurs and has changed the way that we look at acquiring wealth. He is not a best-writing author. But he
is definitely a best-selling author simply because he knows how to make ideas sticking on our mind for ages.
• Which national personality (living or dead) do you admire the most and why?
I admire Sanduk Ruit the most. He had saved lives thousands of people by restoring their eyesight. He spends
his days performing dozens of back-to-back surgeries, still giving that gift of sight, time and again, and training
doctors from all over the world to do the same. I first heard of him in my nepali textbook. Even then I used to
think, does this kind of people exist. Well I does, in just 5 minutes he can give the gift of sight to those in need.

• Which international personality (living or dead) do you admire the most and why?

I admire KSI (Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji ), a famous English youtuber and rapper. KSI stands for
Knowledge, Strenght and Integrity. He is really the example of if you want to be something, you can achieve it
through hard work. KSI said just because he was black, he had to work 2-3 times more than any other white
youtubers. But he didn’t give up, he continued to upload and grew. Now he has total of 40 million subscribers
from his 2 channels. KSI wasn’t good in rapping. He used to upload some rap which was terrible yet funny.
But because of his hard work, he improved and his songs are played everywhere in UK.

• Describe the academic accomplishment (major paper, science experiment, artistic project)
you are proudest of, and tell why you take pride in it.
My greatest accomplishment is when I got 87 in optional maths. When optional maths was
introduced to us, I find it really difficuilt to understand. I was always getting grace marks or
around that range. I was ready to give up and switch to geography. Then some senior brother
told us, optional maths is the base in A level maths. I wanted to read A level so didn’t give
up. I worked hard but the result was same. Still, I didn’t give up. Finally, I got 62. My
confidence boosted and now I enjoying optional maths. At last I got my 87 marks which is
my greatest accomplishment not because of result. Because I didn’t give up.

• Do you have any serious health problems? If yes, please give me some details.

• COVID-19 has had deep adverse impact on the people globally. How has this pandemic
affected you and your family? Briefly explain. What has been your contribution to your
family and the community as a whole during this difficult time?
COVID-19 had a serious impact on my family financially. It was hard for my parents to pay my
fees, household.

• Community service is considered as an important part of college application. Explain your

contribution to the society in brief.
In second covid-19 outbreak, when I went home there used to community cleaning every
Saturday. I found it very amusing because it was something new. At least one member of the
family should go in the campaign. It was at early morning 8 o clock and lasted about 40 50
minutes someday 1 hour. I also went 4 or 5 times. It was amazing. Many people were there
picking up dirt, and having conversation. It was like a small festival where everyone has gather
and have fun while cleaning the surrounding. But when I came home after my high school, it was
gone. I asked my family what happened and they told it just faded away. I was disappointed.
Because there was something new happening in my community and suddenly it vanished. So I
asked my uncle which is reputed about the matter. He said he will take to others in the meeting.
In the meeting, as I was told no one opposed because it was huge deal in participate in cleaning
on weakly basis. So finally, the campaign got revived. So this is my contribution to the revival of
cleaning campaign in my community.
