In addition to an update on the building program, there will be information about how the public can be involved in both selecting programs and contributing to the funding needed for the extras provided. Find out how you can help reach our goals by putting items into a time capsule that will be opened in 50 years and how your family name can be placed on a paver leading to the front door of the facility. Other items will include a report from Ottawa Police, an update on the Outlet Mall , new public school plans, information about a Kanata North Volunteer Recognition Event, Cleaning the Capital, final Town Centre Zoning, and planning of the urban expansion land on March Road, and the status of 2 The Parkway and 1131 Teron Road.

PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT IN THE CITY OF OTTAWA

There have been complaints about the way in which the City provides information to the public and listens to their concerns and suggestions. To improve this process, the City is reviewing these processes and wants to hear about your ideas for improving how City staff routinely engage and consult with residents Four sessions are being held, including one on April 10th at the Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Drive in Kanata from 7 to 9 pm. PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON LOCAL ROADS

The City of Ottawa has a policy in place to change the parking regulations on a residential roadway. If residents submit a petition to the Traffic Department, with a 66% consensus amongst residents on the street, a change can be implemented. For example, a recent petition has been received from residents to restrict parking on one side of the road to No Parking Anytime, with 75% of residents in favour. Staff will be implementing this change.
