Bahrain: 4 arrested in firebomb attack on foreign ministry
Bahrain says four suspects have been arrested after homemade rebombs were hurled at the foreign ministry in a possible escalation of antigovernment protests. The Interior Ministry said Tuesday there were no injuries or serious damage from the Molotov cocktails. The late Monday attack was a rare attempt to strike government ofces in the Gulf states more than 2year-old uprising, led by majority Shiites seeking a greater political voice in the Sunni-ruled kingdom. Bahrain assailants hurl petrol bombs at ministry


Unknown assailants have hurled petrol bombs at Bahrains foreign ministry in the rst attack on a government building in more than two years of unrest, the interior ministry said on Tuesday. A group of terrorists attempted to attack the Dar Al Hukumah compound with petrol bombs, the ministry

said on its Twitter account, adding that guards repelled them and that there was no damage caused in the late Monday attack. The compound is the old headquarters of the government but it is now used by the foreign ministry and as administrative ofces. Members of Parliament in Bahrain are called on to vote down a bill that would interfere with civil organizations, an international rights group said. The International Federation for Human

Rights, known by its French initials FIDH, said it was joined by its partners in expressing concern over a draft law on civil organizations under review in Bahrain. Increased Arrests Reported Around Bahrain Grand Prix Site


Less than two weeks before the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Bahrain Center for Human Rights expressed grave concerns about reports of increased house raids by masked men in civilian clothing and arrests in villages near the race site

The raids and arrests have been reported to have happened last week, the same week when Formula One mogul Bernie Ecclestone announced that he has no concerns about this years race nor has he heard of negative reports coming from the country.
