Our Statement of Faith
WHAT WE PRACTICE
In essential beliefs - we have unity. There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all... Ephesians 4:4-6 In non-essential beliefs - we have liberty. Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters...Who are you to judge someone elses servant? To his own master he stands or falls... So then each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between you and God. Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22 In all our beliefs - we show charity. ...If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all. I Corinthians 13:2
ESSENTIALS WE BELIEVE
ABOUT GOD - God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14 ABOUT JESUS CHRIST - Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heavens glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-10; I Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13 ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT - The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily. II Corinthians 3:17; John 14:16, 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18 ABOUT THE BIBLE - The Bible is Gods Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of the truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 12:6, 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5 ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS - People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of Gods creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2 ABOUT SALVATION - Salvation is Gods free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting Jesus Christ as Gods offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sins penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12, 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1 ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITY - Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and power of God that gives us this security. John 10:29; II Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; I Peter 1:3-5 ABOUT ETERNITY - People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 2:25, 3:16, 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 1:8, 2:44, 46

Camp Leaders Dress Code
As camp leaders, you are an example to the children. Your kind interaction with one another and service are going to impact the campers and their parents. You will be leaving an impression on the parents who are entrusting the care of their child to you for eight-plus hours per day. Your modest dress is important. While we are not going to require a uniform , we are going to require modesty and a considerate attitude toward campers, parents, and staff. In order to accomplish this we are imposing the following standard of dress: 1. Loose comfortable clothing (shirts, skirts, shorts, pants). 2. No knot in the back or on the side of t-shirts. 3. Shirts which cover the entire torso and do not allow midriffs or belly buttons to show even when arms are raised. No low-cut tops: we have a strict no cleavage rule. 4. No spaghetti straps, halter, tube, or tank tops. 5. Undergarments which do not rise above the waistband of pants. 6. No writing on buttocks of clothing. 7. Logos and slogans on all clothing which are appropriate and do not advertise anything that might be construed as contrary to Christianity (secular rock bands, profanity, etc.). 8. Boys pants which stay up (no saggy bottom). 9. No short shorts or mini-skirts (more than 3 inches above the knee). 10. Shorts which have a minimum inseam of 7 inches. 11. Only modest, one-piece bathing suits for girls and no speedos for boys. 12. Shirts and shorts always worn when en route to and from the pool area. Staff T-shirt must be worn every day so that you are easily recognized as a leader. You may not alter the t-shirt in ANY WAY, and it must be worn as issued. (Girls should refer to #2 above.) Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12)
Let your heart attire be more noticeable than your outward appearance!

Social Media Policy
Summary & Purpose Church on the Hill / Achiever Christian School is increasingly exploring ways in which the online community through social media can empower our organization to be a witness of the good news of Jesus Christ and to connect with our larger community. We believe it is in the best interest of Church on the Hill / Achiever Christian School staff and families to be aware of and participate in the sphere of online community, interaction, and idea exchange to find opportunities to share the life change that comes through Jesus Christ. The following best practices and guidelines aim to provide you helpful, practical adviceand also to protect both you and Church on the Hill/Achiever Christian School, as we seek to embrace social media. Guidelines As an employee of Church on the Hill / Achiever Christian School, you are seen by our members, families, and outside parties as a representative of our organization. Therefore, as in all areas of daily life, a staff member's personal website or blog is a reflection on the organization, whether or not the church/school is specifically discussed or referenced. If you choose to identify yourself as a Church on the Hill/Achiever Christian School employee or to discuss matters related to the organization on your website or blog, please bear in mind that, although you may view your site as a personal project, many readers will assume you are speaking on behalf of the organization. Therefore, we ask that you observe the following guidelines to preserve the Christian witness and effectiveness of both yourself and the church/school. 1. Keep the Great Commandment - Mark 12:28-31 Represent God well. Invest in others rather than broadcast yourself. Make sure your communications are above reproach. 2. Be Yourself and Be Transparent Philippians 2:3 Even when you are speaking or writing as an individual, people may perceive you to be speaking or writing on behalf of the Church or School. If you blog or discuss topics or activities related to our organization, be upfront and explain that you work at Church on the Hill / Achiever Christian School; however, include the following disclaimer on your blog or posts: "The opinions and views expressed on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent those of my employer, Church on the Hill / Achiever Christian School." 3. Keep Your Cool - Proverbs 29:11 One of the aims of social media is to create dialogue, and people won't always agree on an issue. When confronted with a difference of opinion, stay cool. Express your points in a clear, loving, and logical way. Don't pick fights; choose your battles wisely. Correct mistakes when needed; and if you encounter disparaging remarks about the church or school, please let your manager or the HR personnel in the Business Office know immediately. They will gladly review it and determine if an official response is needed. Before posting anything, ask yourself, Would I be okay having a person outside of our church/school see what I write? Am I writing something that could be used against me? If you are uncertain about posting something, first talk to a staff member. 4. Be Consistent Multiple personalities dont work well in social media. If you confuse, you lose. If you are a ministry expert one day (posting best practices in your area of ministry), a personal blogger the next, and a church marketer after that (promoting church events, media, or news), people will ultimately stop connecting. 5. Stay Timely Proverbs 15:23 Part of the appeal in social media is that the conversation occurs almost in real time. So, if you are going to participate in an active way, make sure you are willing to take the time to refresh content, respond to questions and update information regularly, and correct information when appropriate. As a reminder, any time and effort spent on your own personal blog or other social media should be done on your personal time and should not interfere with your job duties or work commitments.
6. Uphold Our Values - 1 Corinthians 14:12 Always demonstrate loyalty to the church/school and to each other. Be sensitive to linking to content. Redirecting to another site may imply an endorsement of its content. Avoid creating competing web properties with the church's official web presence for example, posting official Church on the Hill / Achiever Christian School media or communications on your site without publishing it on the Church or Schools official web presence. Report any misuse of our logo. Only those authorized by Church on the Hill / Achiever Christian School may use the logos, so be sure not to include them in your personal blogs or postings, even if it is used as a link to one of our official web properties. 7. Protect Confidential Information and Relationships - Acts 20:28 Online conversations and postings are not private. Know that what you post online may be around for a long time and potentially shared with others. Therefore . . . Avoid identifying and discussing others, including church members, families, visitors, or staff especially any pastoral details such as hospitalizations, deaths, health concerns, or counseling engagements. Obtain permission before posting pictures of others or before posting copyrighted material. You must take proper care not to purposefully or inadvertently disclose or distribute any information or intellectual property that is confidential or proprietary to Church on the Hill/Achiever Christian School. Be sure that what you are sharing has been published in some other official form of communication.
Press Inquiries: Postings may generate media coverage. If a member of the media contacts you about a posting on your personal blog, social network, or on an official church blog, please contact Elliot Sands office at 408 -265-9000 x175.
