Feeding Stray animals

I believe that we should not feed stray animals like how the person in the picture has done. When we feed the stray animals, we are actually harming them instead of helping them. The animals for example, a cat will become dependent on human for food and lose its ability to find food for itself. Thus, when we stop feeding it, it will not be able to find food for itself and will starve and may even die of hunger. When we give the stray animals food, the food will also attract many other stray animals and they would fight over for food causing some of them to be injured. Therefore, I believe the action of the person in the picture is wrong. If I were in the scene, I would immediately approach that person and stop him from feeding the stray animals and tell him the consequences of his feeding.

Feeding animals in the zoo

In my opinion, we must not feed the animals in the zoo as that may cause the animals to get ill, contract diseases or worse death from contamination. Furthermore, it may harass other tourists or visitors to feed them too, making them to become more aggressive. We must also realise animals, like humans will become picky with their food if we feed them and that would cause great difficulty for the zoo-keepers. The feeding of the animals will also affect the schedule of when the animals are fed and affect the time when the animals are hungry. The ______ in the picture is apparently also ignoring the sign that read Do not feed animals. If tourists see his actions, it would leave a bad impression on them about Singapore. If I were in the scene, I would confront that man and tell him that what he is doing is wrong and he should stop immediately.

Pick pocketing
I believe that the man in the picture should not pick other peoples pockets as that is very unlawful. If he was caught, the consequences are very heavy, he might be slapped with a fine and even go to jail. He should understand that stealing is wrong since he is taking things away things that are rightfully others. We are also taught in our school that we must be honest and abide by the rules and we must not break them. Likewise, the man in the picture, he should abide by the rules and not steal other peoples possessions. If I were in that kind situation, I would immediately call for the security guard to apprehend him.

Vandalising (Drawing graffiti)

I believe that what the boys in the picture are doing is very wrong as they should not draw and scribble on the walls as that is an act of vandalising and can be given a fine for that. Their actions are also very inconsiderate as they are dirtying the once clean and white wall that the cleaners had painted. After they have drawn on it, the government still has to employ people to clean and whitewash the walls again. If tourists or simply visitors from other countries see it, it will leave a very bad impression on them about Singapore. If I were in the scene, I would immediately go forward to stop them from continuing drawing graffiti and lecture them about why their actions are very inconsiderate and wrong.

Making noise in class when the teacher is not around

I believe that the pupils should not cause a ruckus in the classroom. I feel that the students should behave themselves when the teacher is not present in the classroom. The class monitor should confront the pupils who are wrecking havoc, disturbing others and tell them to keep quiet and either read a book or do their homework. I believe that the period of time when the teacher is not in the class is a very conducive time to do the days homework instead of making noise so that when they return home, the y have less homework to do. If I were in the picture, I would tell the students to stop making noise and send someone to find the teacher in case he or she had forgotten about the lesson.

Running in the canteen

I believe that what the boys in the canteen are doing is very wrong as they should not run about in the canteen. In the canteen, we must not run, or play as we might knock others who are carrying bowls and plates of piping hot food, causing them to be scalded. The teachers have also been constantly reminding us not to run and play in the canteen, but some pupils like the ones in the picture simply ignore the teachers warnings and continue to run about in the canteen, causing accidents to happen. Only when the pupils seriously understand why the rule is implemented and follow it can we prevent any accidents from happening in the canteen, making it a safe and enjoyable place for us to eat.

Smoking in prohibited areas

I believe that what the man in the picture is doing is very inconsiderate as we must not smoke in places where smoking is prohibited. If the police finds out, he could be fined heavily. It is also against the law to smoke in places where smoking is prohibited. It is clear that the man was oblivious to the big sign hung on the wall that states no smoking. His actions are also very inconsiderate by smoking in the prohibited area. The woman beside the man was also grimacing at the pungent smell of the smoke given out. By breathing the air polluted with smoke, it is actually harming the womans health. Apart from being inconsiderate to others, he is also harming himself. By smoking, he is exposing himself to getting lung cancer and let us think about it, if he does not smoke, how much money can he save? Therefore, by stop smoking, he will get more benefit than harm. If I were in the scene, I would approach the man and remind him that he is not supposed to smoke in that area and also persuade him to quit smoking. I would also explain to him the benefits of quitting smoking and the harm of smoking.

Jaywalking
I believe that what the man in the picture is doing is not the right thing to do. By jaywalking, he is putting himself at risk of being hit by oncoming vehicles and cause himself to be injured. Furthermore, there is a zebra crossing/ an overhead bridge nearby. Why not use them and make it safer to cross the road without the risk of being hit by vehicles travelling at breakneck speed. If he was hit down by a car while jaywalking, it is definitely not worth it. If I were in the scene, I would confront him and tell him the dangers of jaywalking. I would also persuade him to not jaywalk and cross the road safely as our lives are very precious.

Running and pushing in the swimming pool

I believe that what the boys are doing is very wrong. In the swimming pool, we must learn to exercise caution as we might slip and fall when we push and run around the edge of the swimming pool. If we get injured, who is going to take responsibility for us? We must understand that it can be an excellent place for us to play and enjoy if we abide by its rules, but if we do not abide by its rules, we can be injured and it will not be fun anymore. If I were in the scene, I would confront the boys and tell them that what they are doing is wrong and they should not run around in the swimming pool.

Buying a pet
I feel that keeping a pet is a very enjoyable and exciting thing to do. The pet will keep you company when you are down and can lift your spirits. But taking care of the pet is not an easy thing to do, we have to take a very heavy responsibility of taking care of the pets. That is why we must make sure that we are able to take the responsibility and be obliged to taking care of a pet before we buy one as we must realise that the pets are also living things and have feelings too. When we do not care for them, they will also feel sad and down. There are many of those irresponsible pet owners, they find pets interesting at the start, but as time drags on, they lose interest and starts to neglect the pet, then in the end, abandon it. The SPCA has been taking in stray pets which are abandoned in great numbers every year. If only people realise that pets are also living things with feelings are really care for them will the number of irresponsible owners decrease. I believe that the government must also take a step to help reduce the rising number of irresponsible pet owners by letting the purchasers of pet to sign a form to oblige themselves to take good care of the pet they buy and impose fines on them if they neglect their pets.

Littering
I believe that what the boy is doing in the picture is incorrect. In my opinion, we must not litter in the open as that will pollute our environment and attract many insects, causing people who walk past to wrinkle their noses and think about how dirty the environment is. That would also tarnish Singapores reputation of Asias cleanest country. Furthermore, there is a rubbish bin just nearby but he did not bother would to just walk those few steps to get to the rubbish bin and throw the rubbish away. If I were in the picture, I would tell the boy that what he was doing is unacceptable and tell him to pick the litter he had thrown on the ground and throw it into the bin.

Offering to help someone carry something

I believe that what the boy in the picture had done is very good and considerate as he volunteered to carry the ______ for the man as he had bought too many things from the Sale and could not manage to carry all that he had bought. The boys unconditional help proves that he is very civic-minded and instead of leaving the man alone to think a way out himself, he went forward to help. If I were the little boy, I would have done the same thing as one of our school core values state, we must be compassionate to all living things and therefore, we must try our best to help those in need.

Cutting queue
I believe that what the boy in the picture is doing is wrong and also very inconsiderate. By cutting the queue he is being very unfair to those who lined up behind. The boy who cut queue may want to save time, but dont the people at the back want to save time? Teachers have also constantly reminded us not to cut queue but instead, line up ourselves. We must bear in mind that we must not let a person in front just because he or she is a friend of ours. If I were in the scene, I would approach the boy and tell him that his actions are wrong and order him to line up at the back of the queue.

Playing in Supermarket
I believe that what the boy in the picture is doing is wrong. They should not run about in the supermarket and play catching as they might accidentally bump into other people causing the person they had hit and cause themselves to be injured. In my opinion, if they want to play catching, they should go to other places like the playground or the field to play catching. If I were in the scene, I would approach the boys and tell them not to run about and play as the supermarket is not a playground for them.

Making noise in the library

I believe that what the boys are doing is very inconsiderate as they will disturb others when they make noise in the library. Some people may be trying to concentrate to do their work but are disturbed by them and are unable to do it efficiently. There are also rules in the library that states that we must keep our volume down at any point of time. If the boys want to have a conversation or play, they should go elsewhere like the canteen or the field. If I were in the scene, I would immediately approach the boys and stop them from disturbing other library users.

Playing with water in the toilet

I believe that what the boy in the picture is doing is wrong and also very inconsiderate. By playing with water in the toilet, they are wasting water. Water is very precious to us and Singapore does not have its own water and has to buy it from others, by wasting water, we are actually wasting the money used to buy the water. As they play with water, they might also wet the floor and when elderly people walk into the toilet, they might slip and fall, causing themselves to be injured. I were in the scene, I would confront the boys and tell them that what they were doing is wrong and they should top immediately.

Coughing Without covering mouth

I believe that what the man in the picture is doing is wrong and also very inconsiderate. By coughing without covering his mouth, he may be spreading germs to all the people around him. Furthermore, there is currently a flu pandemic outbreak of the Influenza A, the H1N1. By coughing, he is showing symptoms of having H1N1, so he should actually cover his mouth when coughing and see the doctor to prevent his illness to spread around. Only when all the people with flu like symptoms see the doctor and cure it earlier, can Singapore be flu free!

Talking loudly on the phone

I believe that what he boy in the picture is doing is wrong and also very inconsiderate. In the cinema, we should not even talk over the phone in the first place as he is not supposed to talk over a phone in the midst of a movie. If he has no choice but to answer the phone, he should tell the caller to call him back later as he must be considerate to others and not talk loudly and disturb others who are trying to watch the movie. If I were in the scene, I would immediately go to the managers office and lodge a complaint of the man and ask him to take the necessary actions.

No one giving up seat to others

I believe that the reaction of the commuters towards the pregnant woman having no seat is wrong and very inconsiderate. The commuters are not practicing the value of courtesy by not giving up their seat to those who need the seat more than them. The pregnant woman looks very tired standing with another toddler in her arms. If I were in the scene, I would immediately give up my seat to her as we must be considerate to others.

Playing on the MRT platform

I believe that what the boys in the picture are doing is wrong and also very dangerous. By playing on the MRT platform, they are putting their own life at risk. As shown in the picture, one of the boys has crossed the yellow line. He must have been to engrossed in playing to realise that he was actually about to fall into the train track. If he did, the oncoming train light not see him or brake in time to avoid hitting him. By playing on the platform, they might also bump into others and cause themselves and others to be injured. If they want to play, I suggest that they go to somewhere else to play like the field where they are less likely to put themselves in danger. If I were in the scene, I would approach the boys and tell them not play there and explain to them the dangers of playing there.
