NOTES

Greetings from the Pastor

\A Message From the Pastors Heart
Today, we live in a culture where the influence of religion has significantly dropped and people are thinking lesser and lesser in reference to the one true God. We do not realize how powerful culture can be in the development of our values and how we live life. Every day, we find ourselves bombarded with messages on how to live, act, dress, what to believe and what to prioritize. They shape our values and our attitudes both positively and negatively. Tragically, without God shaping that culture where we live, it is dreadful to think what values we can imbibe and what lifestyle we adopt. The Family as a basic unit of our society is afflicted by the pains of divorce, abortion, teenage pregnancies, drugs, and many other elements that shake the very foundation of the very first institution created by God. The statistics of various studies and research about the decline of the family paint a grim picture, but it is not hopeless because of Gods Word that provides the answers if only we are willing to seek God with a willing heart. The greatest place for hurting individuals is their family and the refuge for defeated families is the church where healing and wholeness can take place. When we have regenerate people and renewed families, then we have seeds that can spawn positive changes in a culture of spiritual dryness and emptiness that is pervasive today. I am confident that this retreat will give us moments for spiritual introspection and be able reconnect ourselves, and our families to Gods purpose of kingdom building even amidst a hostile culture. GOD BLESS US ALL! REV. DING S. GUEVARRA, JR. (D.MIN)

Chorus Trust and obey, For there's no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey. Not a shadow can rise, Not a cloud in the skies, But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt or a fear, Not a sigh or a tear, Can abide while we trust and obey. Not a burden we bear, Not a sorrow we share, But our toil He doth richly repay; Not a grief or a loss, Not a frown or a cross, But is blest if we trust and obey. But we never can prove The delights of His love, Un5l all on the altar we lay; For the favor He shows, And the joy He bestows, Are for them who will trust and obey. Then in fellowship sweet We will sit at His feet, Or we'll walk by His side in the way; What He says we will do; Where He sends, we will go, Never fear, only trust and obey.
