3/22/13 Security Partner: Assign Roles and Reset Passwords


The Security Partner explains two frequent tasks that this role performs: assign roles to a worker and reset passwords for workers.

Assign (or un-assign) roles to a worker


1) In the search box , type the name of the employee and then click the Search button, or press the Enter key. The Search Results pane displays. 2) Select the Employee record 3) On the View Worker page, next to the employees name, click the Actions The Worker preview pane displays. 4) Under Available Actions, highlight Security Profile, and then select Assign Roles The initial Assign Roles page is displayed. 5) Enter the Effective Date for when the role(s) is(are) to take effect. 6) Click the icon to add a role; click the to remove a role. icon.

7) In the Organization field, type all or part of the supervisory organization (or the managers name who owns the supervisory organization) or click the to see a list of all of the organizations in which you hold the role of security partner. Select the appropriate organization. 8) In the Role field, click the to open a list of roles; select one or more roles to assign.

9) The Worker field, type the name of the worker who will have the role; hit enter or click on the icon. Note that you can assign more than one worker to each role in an organization: for example, if you want to assign the role to worker A, type worker As name in the Worker field and hit enter; then, type worker Bs name in the same field and hit enter. 10) Click Submit. A submission confirmation displays, indicating that the process is complete. Click the blue arrow 11) Click Close. icon to expand Details and Process information.

Reset an employees password


1) In the search box , type the name of the employee and then click the Search button, or press the Enter key. The Search Results pane displays. 2) Select the Employee record 3) On the View Worker page, next to the employees name, click the Actions The Worker preview pane displays. icon.

4) Under Available Actions, highlight Security Profile, and then select Edit Workday Account. The Edit Workday Account for Person page is displays. 5) In the New Password field, enter a new password for the employee; re-type the new password in the New Password Verify field. 6) Leave the Require New Password at Next Sign In box checked. 7) Modify other fields, if appropriate. 8) Click Okay. A submission confirmation displays, indicating that the process is complete. 9) Click Close.
