Foreword

The growth of TPM in India has taken a giant leap in the year 2004. With 26 companies successfully challenging the TPM Award, we can say that the year 2004 was an excellent year for companies practising TPM in India. This year, TPM National conference steps into its fifth edition. The programme as usual is packed with lot of information for the Indian Industry to take and benefit. This years conference has many jewels in its crown. First, Mr Kinjirou Nakano, Director, JIPM would be addressing all of us. It is one of a rare occasion for Indian Industry to hear him. Second, Experience sharing session by 2 of the winners of Award for TPM Excellence for the year 2004. Third, introduction of Tool Management as one of the topics for presentation. Fourth, Action plan in the 6W2H way by My Sueo Yamaguchi, Advisor TPM Club India and TPM Consultant- JIPM. Fifth all the presentation are by companies which have successfully challenged the TPM Award or have done excellent work in that specified topic that has been allocated to them. We would like to thank our special and respected guest Mr Kinjirou Nakano for agreeing to spend his precious time at this conference to deliver his message. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank Dr Surinder Kapur, Chairman of TPM Club India for his excellent and inspiring leadership and all our Board Members for the support and guidance to take TPM Club India to great heights. The contributions of our GURU, Mr Sueo Yamaguchi in setting the pace for TPM movement in India and his guidance in the operation of TPM Club India has been excellent and appreciated by many of our members. We are grateful for his continued support and guidance. Last but not the least we also extend our appreciation and gratitude to Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) -our partner in progress -for supporting us in making the TPM Movement in India a great success. Sharing is the key to success. There are many companies presenting their stories at the conference. I wish all the participants a great learning and take home points for implementation.
