Presbyterian Missionary Union is a non-profit missions agency associated with the Bible Presbyterian Church. Our purpose is
to advance the cause of missions that are biblically based and practiced and to stand against any compromise of the saving gos-
pel of Jesus Christ. PMU is directed by a Missions Council of Christian leaders who volunteer their time to guide the ministry.
To learn more about missions opportunities through PMU, or to learn more about the BPC please contact us. The Missions
Banner is published ten times a year and is mailed to interested individuals and churches. It seeks to promote the clear stand of
the BPC by providing a biblical perspective on issues, fads, and theories in missions and church development. Editor: Len Pine

We left Greenville and headed to Tennessee, where we visited the
churches at Knoxville (Rev. Jerry Gardner) and Bluff City (Rev.
Garry Cole) on Sunday. I was happy to be preaching, presenting, and

have accumulated over the years! I even got the family involved
with me in the music ministry.
Knoxville BPC The final week on the road was a time of varied ministry. We
fellowshipped with a former member of the Grand Island church
who married and moved to east Tennessee this past year, and was
able through their efforts to make the acquaintance of two PCA pastors from the presbytery there on Tuesday morning.
Had an intense but delightful time of Q&A all morning. It was a blessed time of fellowship with men of like precious
faith.
Later that day, I was able to meet for a couple of hours with Dr. Phil Blevins at Graham Bible
College in Bristol, VA. I was there with the goal of trying to see if this Re-
Patrick Henry College formed and Presbyterian college might be an option for our BP young peo-
ple. It was a good conversation, and I hope it will bear fruit in the future.
The final stop of the trip was at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA,
up by Washington, DC. I spoke in chapel, was warmly received by every-
one, and was able to make a good first stop there. Also an exploratory visit, Graham Bible
I hope to be able to spend a little more time there the next time the Lord College Logo
makes it possible for me to stop in.
After about 3000 miles of driving without incident, we returned safely home. Many thanks for
your prayers and support of this ministry.

Dr. Paauwe and Mark Baldwin: Increasing in Knowledge and Wisdom

In October Dr. Edward Paauwe traveled to Bob Jones University to defend his doctoral dissertation. We thank the
Lord for the hours of labor Rev. Paauwe has committed to this work. He recently told PMU that he and Lehia and Dea-
con Orchard and his wife, Florence, will travel to Myanmar to minister with Pastor Kim and his wife, Mawite. They
have scheduled the trip for February 19-26, 2007 and would appreciate your prayers that plans and preparations will go
smoothly.
Mark Baldwin has met with the Candidates and Credentials Committee of the Great Lakes Presbytery for his final
examination prior to meeting with the full Presbytery. Continue to pray for Mark as he works toward the completion of
the ordination process. The effort and time he has spent in preparation will be invaluable on the field, but he is eager to
complete the process and return to full-time missionary service.

Miriam Fisher Returns to Asia

Miriam has returned to Asia and is in the process of renewing her contacts, both with fellow laborers and with em-
ployers. Please uphold Miriam in prayer that the Lord will increase her outreach and provide ever more opportunities for
her as she serves Him faithfully in a country whose government despises the gospel of Christ.

Myanmar is Ripe for Harvesting—Rev. Kim’s Opportunities Increase

Pastor Kim is pleased that they were able to purchase a TV for use at the orphanage center and a small boat for the
Inlay Lake mission at Kay Lar village. Because of their love for singing hymns, another item that brings them special
blessing is the purchase of a keyboard for the Yangon Bible Presbyterian Church. While we often take such basic items
for granted, the Myanmar brethren have patiently waited upon the Lord for His provision.
Rev. Kim continues to be contacted by other Christian groups in Myanmar and many of them are seeking training
and guidance. Most recently he has talked to a group from the Dai Tribe in Chin State. Pray that Pastor Kim will have
wisdom in determining the authenticity of these requests and that the Lord will guide him as he meets with them.
