Rolls-Royce is the first superluxury brand to open a showroom in the city. Strategically located at Thaltej Crossroad, a major thoroughfare near the city, the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ahmedabad showroom has a floor space of 2,637 sq.ft, displaying two Rolls-Royce cars. The facility is configured to help customers personalise their Rolls-Royce cars with a unique customer Bespoke lounge. A Rolls-Royce owner, for example, can choose from 44,000 exterior colours and an almost infinite number of wood, leather and interior combinations. The new showroom is the first to be opened in Gujarat since the brand returned to India in 2005. Prior to this, the state was home to one of the most famous Bespoke Rolls-Royces of all time, The Star of India, a Bespoke 1934 Phantom II 40/50 HP Continental, which was commissioned by the Maharaja of Rajkot. It is one of the most valuable motor cars of its kind in the world and an innovative benchmark, like the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars of today. One of the Star's unique features is extra headlights that track the steering wheel and follow the road. This technology is the forerunner of today's 'adaptive-curve lights', found on modern cars.
