PART - A Answer ALL the Questions Define eccentricity of ellipse.

(10 x 2 = 20)

Draw the projection of point when point P is 40 mm behind the VP and in the HP. Give the example for solids of revolution. Projection of a sphere is always a ----------------------------. Define apparent shape of a section. In drawing development of objects, true lengths are used. (True / False) Define isometric axes. Mention any two methods used to obtain a perspective view. Define orthographic projection.

10. Pictorial views are 3D objects. (True / False). PART B (5 x 12 = 60) Answer All the Questions 11. Construct an ellipse when the distance of its focus from its directrix is equal to 50 mm and the eccentricity is 2/3. Also draw a tangent and a normal to the ellipse. (or)

12. A line AB has its end A 25 mm above H.P. and 20 mm in front of V.P. The end B is 60 mm above H.P. and the line is inclined at 30o to H.P. The distance between the end projections of the line is 55 mm. Draw the projections and find its inclination with V.P. 13. A hexagonal prism of side of base 25 mm and axis 60 mm rests on a corner of its base in H.P. with the axis of the prism inclined at 40o to H.P. and parallel to V.P. Draw its projections. (or) 14. A pentagonal prism of base side 40 mm and axis length 60 mm lies on the H.P on one of its longer edges with its axis parallel to both the H.P and the V.P. One of the rectangular faces containing the resting edge is inclined at 30o to the H.P. Draw its top and front views. 15. A cylinder of base diameter 45 mm and height 65 mm rests on its base on the HP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP and inclined at 30o to the HP and meets the axis at a distance 30 mm from base. Draw the front view, sectional top view and true shape of section. (or) 16. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and axis length 60 mm is resting on the HP on its base with a side of base is parallel to the VP. It is cut by a plane inclined at 35o to the HP and perpendicular to the VP and meets the axis at a distance 35 mm from the base. Draw the development of the lower portion of the pyramid. 17. Draw the isometric view of a cylinder resting on one of its ends on the H.P with diameter of 50 mm and height of 75 mm. (or) 18. A square prism of base 25 x 25 mm and height 40 mm rests on the GP with the edges of the base making 45o with PP. The corner nearest to the PP is 25 mm to the right of the station point and 25 mm behind the PP. The station point is 55 mm above the

GP and 70 mm in front of the PP. Draw the perspective view of the square prism. 19. Draw the front view, top view and side view of the object given in Fig. 1.

(or) 20. Draw the pictorial view from orthographic projection of the object given in Fig.2.
