Answer Sheet
DIGITAL NATIVES Read to learn more about the war between digital immigrants & digital natives. Answer the following prompt after reading the article. I wonder how schools can keep up with up-to-date technology when the advancement of technology is going so quickly. You see schools throw tons of money into the next, bigger and better piece of technology only to have it be out of date and not compatible with the newest application in the next year or two. It will be a constant struggle for schools to monetarily keep up with the progress of technology. Paste your response here in Edmodo Module 2. Reply to at least one other classmates post.

COPYRIGHT FOR YOUR STUDENTS

GO through http://digitalpassport.orgCreative Credit: Mix n Mash to learn ways to teach copyright to younger students. Use articles to further students understanding. DISCUSSION ACTIVITY: Prompt: What techniques could you use to teach your students about copyright laws? o After looking through the digitalpassport.org website, it was apparent that there is a lot of information out there on copyright that my students need to know but in actuality are not aware of. Dealing with high school students, most know that they cannot just cut and paste information off of the internet. It still amazes me that even though that they know this, there are still some that still do it. I have only had my students for 3 weeks so far and I could easily tell if they cut and pasted information off a website. I enjoyed the lesson titled, Rights, Remixes, and Respect. I am a big music person and try to incorporated music into my Chemistry lessons. I think kids connect with music and makes the information easier to remember. This lesson connects copyright with music. I always think of Vanilla Ice and Ice, Ice Baby. That beginning beat and how David Bowie and Queen sued him for using his beat in Under Pressure without credit. Follow the rubric for discussion posts. o Reply to one other student using techniques learned in module 1.
