PANG malaman kung makakayanan ng mga gusali at bahay sa Kamaynilaan ang Big One, nanawagan si Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Francis Tolentin sa mga local government unit (LGU) na gumawa ng earthquake census sa buong kabisera makaraan ang magnitude 7.2 na lindol na yumanig sa Bohol at Cebu noong isang linggo.
In view of the clamor to revisit some of the provisions of the National Building Code, we should start this earthquake risk audit so we can plan and implement contingency measures in case a strong earthquake hits Metro Manila, pahayag ni Tolentino kahapon. Nakatuntong sa West Valley Fault ang Metro Manila at ilang kalapit na lalawigan. Ayon sa mga eksperto mula sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), hinog na sa paggalaw ang fault line. Ngunit sinabi ni Philippine Institute of Vulcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) chief Renato Solidum na You dont need to be anywhere near a fault to experience an earthquakes effects.

The BIR also learned that some people who took the top spots on the Forbes list ranked relatively low on the revenue agencys roster. For instance, Henry Sy Sr., the tycoon who owns SM, was the richest man in the Philippines last year with a net worth of $9.1 billion. But he was only the 73rd biggest taxpayer on the BIRs list. Sy reportedly paid P93.76 million in taxes. Lucio Tan and family were named the second richest with a combined net worth of $4.5 billion. DAHIL sa mga panalo sa mens at womens basketball, kinuha ng De La Salle ang unang puwesto sa general championship ng 76th University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Matapos ang unang semestre ng mga salpukan ay may 162 puntos ang DLSU kumpara sa 146 puntos ng University of Santo Tomas. Pinatalsik ng Archers ang Tigers sa general championships noong nakaraang season. Bago mapatalsik ay 14 sunod taon naghari ang Tigers. Nagsipagwagi rin ang mga koponan ng De La Salle sa mens table tennis at taekwondo at womens judo. Pumangalawa ito sa womens badminton at table tennis at mens swimming. Kinuha ng Green Archers ang ikatlong puwesto sa womens taekwondo at swimming at mens judo. We are happy and pleased with the performances of our student-athletes in the mens and womens division, sabi ni Henry Atayde, kinatawan ng La Salle sa UAAP board. Nagwagi ang UST sa womens taekwondo at poomsae. Pumangalawa ito sa mens at womens beach volleyball at mens taekwondo.
