Get ready!!! Boosterthon is coming November 12-21!

The Boosterthon Fun Run will be our one big fundraiser of the year, but its about more than just fundraising its also about fitness, character, and leadership! Instead of selling items door-to-door students will obtain pledges for running laps during the Fun Run on November 21. We will kick off with a pep rally on November 12 and follow up with Team Huddles each day leading up to the Fun Run. Parents are invited to any of the Team Huddles and the Fun Run to experience Boosterthon first-hand! Every student will get a free t-shirt and get to participate in all events! Money raised will be used to pay for the events and endeavors PTO finances. Did you know the PTO spends $5000 annually to purchase tags for the quarterly Tag of Honor ceremonies? Another $5000 is ear-marked for teacher mini-grants so teachers can purchase items for their classrooms not paid for by the district. Fall Festival and Bingo Night each cost about $2,000 to put on, not to mention the expenses of all the other PTO-sponsored events such as Grandparents Day, Elementary Night Tailgating, Movie Night, Princess Ball, and Prince Bowl! Additionally, we sell yearbooks below cost so they can be affordable for our families. We want to be able to continue to sponsor all of these things that benefit all of our students and we can do that with a successful Boosterthon Fun Run! More details will be sent home soon.

November Testing for 2nd Graders

On Tuesday, November 5, Wednesday, November 6, and Thursday, November 8, second graders throughout the State will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). CogAT is a nationally norm-referenced test that helps teachers gather information about how students learn. It is also used as one of several measures for placement in the academically gifted program. Please make note of these dates on your calendar. Students who miss any of the testing sessions will be scheduled for make-up testing. Help your child have a positive testing experience by being sure that he or she is present and on time, has had a good nights sleep, and a healthy breakfast.

October 28 November 1 will be Music in the Dark week! Every student is asked to wear a white shirt to music that week for black light fun!! All 4th graders received information about their field trip to the interactive concert Orchestra Moves at the Koger Center. Permission forms and money ($8.00) is due to Mrs. Rushe no later than December 6.
