The first issue of The Good News was well received by our community. Hopefully it keeps everyone in the loop about whats happening in our community. All organization heads are kindly asked to please to submit their organizations news and upcoming events by the 25th of each month to the church office for publication in the following months issue. From time to time, I will use this as an opportunity to speak with you about a topic that is important to our religious, spiritual or cultural life as Greek rthodo! "hristians. For the ne!t couple of issues, Id like to talk with you about the Holy #ible. The #ible is different from any other book in the world for one very important reason. It is the work of many different people and of God Himself. $t. %aul tells us that All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving

Parish Council At Octobers council meeting various issues were discussed. Our oil tank has been replaced. We thank Gest Fuel and Barkas Landscaping for their great work We have been blessed in collecting !"#$### in donations from %& families. Appro'imatel( another !)&$### is needed *he cost of our oil tank would be paid in full if all the families of our communit( stepped up to donate. An +Abuse ,eporting -olic(. will be added to our insurance polic( to keep our rates competitive and to compl( with recent /* 0tatutes. *he -arish /ouncil would like to thank 1r. Arthur 2eliotis for generousl( donating a defibrillator to our communit(. /ertification classes on its use will begin shortl( and taught b( our ver( own 3leni 1iakogeorgiou. A thank (ou also goes out to 1r. 4ichael Gabriel for generousl( donating a /hildrens First Aid Bo' for our classroom area. 5amie -hilippopoulos is volunteering her time 6 talent as our new Office 4anager. *he -arish /ouncil will sponsor a Frida( night Bingo each month and will host the *urke( Bingo on Frida($ 7ovember ""nd at 8pm. Our next parish council meeting is on Wednesday, November 6th at 7pm.

to host the #iennial 'irect &rchdiocesan 'istrict %hiloptochos "onference. )e especially thank "athy ,oumboulis, and her hard working and supportive volunteers that made this event successful- $ia #akis and #arbara %appas for the beautiful decorations.ouis /atsos 0 Harry $eitaridis for donating the nice donuts, bagels and muffins- 1eleti Giannopoulos and Tony #outsikoudis for making a delicious lunch- and .itsa Thagouras for the yummy homemade galactobouriko. "ongratulations to our president, 2ebecca #outsikoudis, for being elected to the 'istrict #oard again+ ur &nnual Tag $ale made over 34,555 and was successful. )e thank Tina $carpelli and the volunteers for all their hard work. This money will help fulfill our obligations and the philanthropic needs of our community. ur youth also sold friendship bracelets and donated the proceeds to charity. ur pilgrimage to &ghia $kepi 1onastery on $aturday, *ovember 6nd was spiritually rewarding and a great success+ ver 78 people attended. The 'ivine $ervices were beautiful, our monastic hosts were gracious and the food, yes the food, was delicious. )e made a 3955 donation to the monastery and raised over 3:55. )e thank &thena ;avoulidis for organi<ing this event- Fr. 1athews and %resbytera &nna for =oining us. Our next hiloptochos meeting is on !onday" #ovember $$th at % pm. $ince *ovember is &l<heimers &wareness 1onth, we will have a guest speaker to educate us about this disease that affects over 7 million &mericans. )e will host our annual Turkey #ingo on Thursday, *ovember 64st at 8pm.

General Assembly Our General Assembly will be held on unday, November !7th right a"ter #ivine $iturgy in our %ellowship &all. A 9uorum of "#: of the active members of our communit( is needed for the General Assembl( to take place. All active steward members of our communit( are encouraged to attend. /hild care$ food and beverages will be provided to families with (oung children to encourage ever(ones participation.

School Committee The School Committee applauds our Interim Greek School Director, Georgios Argyratos, and our great teachers for their informative presentations at the Greek School Open House !any parents attended and "ere impressed "ith the teachers# plans, their dedication and their "arm regard for our children The $O%I Day& cele'ration "as great (e thank !r Argyratos and our teachers for putting together a great $O%I Day& production and our students for an e)cellent *o' reciting their poems, singing and dancing Congratulations! -- !

PTA ur pen House on ctober : th was a wonderful event. The teachers presentations and the open forum with parents, along with the pi<<a party en=oyed by our children helped kick off the start of our school year with enthusiasm+ )e held a raffle with an autumn theme that included pri<es from beautiful mums to adorable $carecrows, also a beautiful centerpiece basket of pine cone fire starters donated by one of our board members. The raffle was a great success and was drawn at coffee hour following church services on $unday. It raised over 3655 for the cost of supplies for the .anguage 0 "ulture $chool and $unday $chool. )e had a board meeting on Friday, ctober 44th and our minutes are posted on the bulletin board. %T& hosted coffee hour on $unday, ctober 65th and we thank the %anagiotopoulou family for donating the delightful fruit and sweets. 1any thanks goes out to the %saltos family for donating the delicious brunch, to >ohn %saltos 0 Tony #outsikoudis for preparing it and to %T& members, friends and volunteers who helped make our ? @I 'ayA celebration a success+ )e look forward to our future events with the same enthusiasm and welcome everyone with much appreciation and thanks. #aintenance Committee We received an excellent score of 96% from the health department. A few windows, refrigerator racks, and 12 round ta les were replaced that were roken or worn out.

AHEPA ur annual &HE%& fundraiser on ctober 6Fth at the *orwalk Inn was a great success. &bout 4F7 people gathered to celebrate the ?%assing of the TorchA and to en=oy themselves. )e hope to make significant contributions to our Greek $chools and to the *ational &HE%& Greek 2elief Fund, roughly matching our 6546 contributions. Our next meeting is on 1ednesday" #ovember $+th at %*+,pm at the -hurch of the Archangels. ur annual Bankee 'istrict Hellenic History Tournament is on $aturday, *ovember 4Fth at 44G95am at $aint #arbara "hurch in range. 74 students from all over "T, will compete for 3:,755 in pri<es based on their knowledge of Greek history. ur $tamford chapter is represented by two teams. ne consists of *ikki 0 &le!i #outsikoudis and George 2assias&phrodite 0 /onstantina Haralabidis and 1ichael /ubisek make up the other.
