Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

What do you think? was Jesus question in todays gospel, again trying to get the rule makers and scorekeepers to see the bigger picture of Gods generous mercy. In families we would do well to invite one another to think and reason together rather than making accusations of thats unfair! Developing the virtues of understanding and empathy develop conscience more than just making and following rules. (Insert graphic 1106-0086) 362 adorers spent one hour with our Lord last week in Eucharistic Adoration. One day St. Teresa of Avila heard someone say: "If only I had lived at the time of Jesus... If only I had seen Jesus... If only I had talked with Jesus..." To this she responded: "But do we not have in the Eucharist the living, true and real Jesus present before us? Why look for more?" The following are hours in need of an adorer: Thursday 3-4am, Saturday 2-3am, noon-1:00pm, 7-8pm and 8-9pm. If you are only able do just one hour, without making a weekly commitment, please let Judy Soltis know by calling 330-212-0926. (Insert Graphic 1508-0016) First Saturday Devotion to our Blessed Mother under the title of Our Lady of Fatima will be held on October 1 at 6:00pm in the church. Our Lady of Fatimas message was one of prayer and sacrifice. She urged praying the Rosary daily. She urged making sacrifices for sinners. She said God wished to establish in the world devotion to her Immaculate Heart. Come and join us!

Dear Friends, I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt and overwhelming gratitude for the outpouring of cards and notes in the past month assuring me of your prayerful support. Prayer of petition are always answered. You are all so good to God and to me. Thank you. I endured a major surgery and am on the road to a very good recovery. I feel great! This surgery was step one. It removed a fast growing benign tumor successfully. Step two will be to try and repair the sudden hearing loss in my right ear. This attempt can be made only after six months from now. All things-in Gods time. You all have a high place in my respect for you and your faith. Many thanks and blessings Father Jim Singler
Blanket Sunday is coming soon The Weekend of October 8-9 marks the Twenty-Fifth Annual Blanket Sunday Collection to aid the needy. The Collection is sponsored by the Diocesan St. Vincent de Paul Society. This year, due to lack of storage space, we will sponsor a cash only collection. Well greatfully accept your cash donation and do the shopping for you, making money go even further with bulk purchased of blankets and other items needed by low income families. Please give someone a blanket for the winter --- and give yourself a warm feeling. The Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) focuses on finding new ways to bring the gospel message to you by working to be wherever the faithful and those seeking the faith are. CCC provides content the way you need it on the Internet to strengthen marriage, in podcasts for daily readings, on television for Christmas Mass, and on Facebook for news, discussions, and sharing the faith. Please be generous in the Collection and support this important work. CCC is how the Good News gets around to you.
