Campbell High School Technology Plan 2013-2016

Vision Campbell High School shares the vision of preparing all students to be meaningful contributors to the technology engulfed 21st century community. Technology will play an active role in achieving curriculum objectives and state standards, with the goal of preparing the students fit into post secondary education and work. Opportunities will therefore be created for authentic learning where students will have to interact with experts in the community. All students will have equal access to tools and resources needed for authentic learning activities (Lombardi, 2007). Provision will be made for special-needs students to successfully complete grade level activities that involve using technology to seek for information, collaborate and for solving real-life problems. Priority will be given to activities that will make students apply concepts, analyze, synthesize and evaluate information. Web 2.0 applications like blogs, wikis, podcasts and video conferencing will be utilized to create an opportunity for collaboration among students and with professionals. Instructional strategies will be updated to correspond with changes in real-life practices as students learn through connections with mentors around the world (Lombardi, 2007). Teachers will link professional development with classroom practices. Teachers will have the opportunity to hold discussions on topics such as emerging technologies and instructional practices on the school website and in faculty meetings. Available professional training opportunities will also be made known to teachers. Teachers will

use technology to engage students in creative projects, assess students learning, and communicate with parents on students performance. Feedback from students will be a tool in evaluating the implementation of technology by teachers. Teachers will use data collected to inform future instructional planning. The community will become more involved in the integration process of technology and will volunteer to monitor, maintain, and assist students in using the technology. Technology will be used to increase audience to students projects as the community will have access to students online exhibitions and publications. Technology will be used to enhance communication and collaboration with teachers and staff, and to access to students academic progress.
