2. The four-bar mechanism ABCD in Fig. 4 is attached by a spring at its left end to a rigid wall and by a rigid bar at its right end to the right wall. The spring constant k = 10.2 kN/m. Initially, when a = 0, all bars are horizontal and the spring tension is 200 N. The load P is then applied, and the bars open to the position shown. 3. A cable of length 8.5 m is attached to the two posts as shown in Fig. 5. The crate has a mass of 1000 kg. Find the x and y components of the forces exerted by the cable on the eyebolts and find the tension force in the cable.
