Introduction

HSE suggestion scheme has been developed to encourage and motivate the EPCL employees to
actively participate in HSE activities.

Scope

This Procedure all shall be applicable throughout the EPCL complex

HOD Safety is responsible for implementing this procedure

Procedure

1. Any EPCL employee can contribute HSE suggestion under this award scheme. An employee
can submit any numbers of suggestions, but duplication will not be entertained.
2. Suggestions are to be dropped in the Safety suggestion box (provided in all the areas / dept.
of the complex).
3. HSE suggestion should be submitted in the prescribed approved format, available with the
safety ambassador of the area.
4. All the Safety suggestion boxes will be opened on the 25Th day of every month or the next
date in case 25th is holiday.
5. The suggestions will be evaluated at two levels.
Department level: A team consisting of HSE coordinator, section head or
functional Head of the respective plant /area and one HSEF department
representative will jointly evaluate the HSE suggestion. Short listed suggestions

will be forwarded to the secretary of the APEX committee before 27th date of
every month for final evaluation.
APEX Level: The Apex committee will evaluate the short listed safety
suggestions once in three months and will select the three best entries, as per the
ranking, and five consolation prizes for promotional motivation.
6. The evaluation reports will not be disclosed to any person, to avoid the controversy if there is
any.
7. The awarded suggestions will be circulated to all for knowledge and will be implemented
depending on its quality.
8. The APEX committee is suggested to have following persons.
a.

Head of function - HSE&F

b.

Head of function- Engineering

c.

Head of function- HR and Administration

d.

Head of safety Secretary ,

9. The awards consisting of following:

a. Ist Rank 20000 Naira (cash) + appreciation letter signed by Site head
b. IInd rank 10000 Naira (cash) + appreciation letter signed by Site head
c. IIIrd Rank - 5000Naira (cash) + appreciation letter signed by Site head
d. Five consolation prize 2000 Naira (cash) + appreciation letter signed by Site head
10. One copy of appreciation letter will be submitted to HR dept. for record and to be used for
the rating during personal appraisal system.
Note: In case of any dispute, the decision of APEX committee will be the final and binding for all.
