Fabulous photo (le), courtesy of R&CASC ocial photographer, Thorsten Trupke. Taken on Saturday 19 October 2013 during a very big de that kept us out of the water for 45 minutes or so.

See Tim Green for further informaon. Does anyone see a resemblance to our illustrious Treasurer and the exuberant young lady in the forefront of the photo?
The huge seas were a deterrent for the races, holding us up for at least half an hour. However, the kids had a wonderful time standing on the side of the pool as the big spray hit them. Thorsten took some great photos see the Clubs Facebook page.
Good on Tim Green acting as a northerly lookout and buffer as well as the horizontal lane keeper. Don Smith, we needed you too! The first race was literally a walk in for Sonia Vaughan. Terry Parkinson trying his hand (stopwatch?) at double duty as a timekeeper. New member, Pauline Askin, found the waves challenging but exhilarating. Thank you to the enthusiastic raffle ticket sellers, Bronte and Isobel Funnell. Another new member, Cheryl Furner was amazed and thankful that she reached the finishing line. Dorothee Trupke set a new PB for slowness.
Diving in to the 100 yard special, Hayden Ingle nearly lost his cossie. Had to stop for a quick adjustment. Lucy Tait came first in all her races good on your Lucy. Mark Schlink nearly came undone as the apprentice starter. He thought his job was finished after calling go, but was quickly set straight by both swimmers and timekeepers. Kieran Taylors drastic hair cut definitely slowed down his swimming this morning. And, aha at last, the new Old Fox. Peter Carney has finally handed over his crown to Tim Green!!
Good on Liya Wu who scored a ticket in her backstroke race. Paul OHaras wearing a moon boot again looks like a tendon problem. It will keep him out of swimming for a while. Dorothee Trupkes manoeuvring across the field to the finish, won her a blue in the 50yard breastroke. Luke Porter Daly is developing a true Richard Ormsby starting style. Spied the Mison tots practising for next season maybe? The Mison dynasty lives on! Kenny Radin was not impressed with his consolation Good Swim ticket and the promise of an Encouragement Award. Welcome back to Michelle Bodkin (ne Stuart) who swam with us many many years ago. It was a strong Gaelic heat when Kenny, Brendan and Phillip competed together. Best wishes to Jim Grant, who we hope to see back on deck again very soon.
