INT. ERICS CAR - DAY ERIC (30s) is well groomed with neat and tidy hair, clean shaven, healthy skin. ERICS POV A number of cars are ahead of his. Right at the end of the queue is a couple of road workers near a barricade and road closure sign, one stands and the other ROAD WORKER WITH THE PHONE to his ear crouches, both look at something on the ground behind the barricade. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Whats the hold up? The sound of traffic outside is muffled. ERICS FACE Eric checks the dashboard. TIME DISPLAY It is 8:45AM. Eric sighs. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Ten minute wait so far. A car horn blasts from the car behind. ERICS POV Moves face to the rear-view mirror, can be seen in reflection. Eric can see the car behind. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Honking wont help. Eric returns his gaze to the front. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Annoying guy, just like my neighbor. ERICS FACE Eric looks at the display. TIME DISPLAY The time is 8:50AM. (CONTINUED)

ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Ten minutes to get there... ERICS EYES Eric stares ahead. DISSOLVE: Eric is asleep. A horn blast from the car behind jolts his eyes open, he looks at the time display. TIME DISPLAY The time is 10:30AM. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) What? Eric adjusts his collar. The car behind honks the horn. ERIC Shut up! ERICS EAR The car horn penetrates Erics eardrum for the final time and the sound holds. ERICS HEAD Eric cuffs his ears with his hands. ERIC Im fucking sick of this! EXT. CAR BEHIND ERICS - EVENING ERICS POV Eric mumbles to himself as he approaches the car behind his. ERICS EYES He glares angrily. ERIC Look you prick, Ive had enough of you and your honking! ERICS POV

The driver of the car behind stares ahead, a female passenger is with him. Eric opens the car door then grabs the driver by the neck and violently shakes his head. THE DRIVER The drivers eyes are open, blood stains are around his eyes, nostrils and mouth, his skin is decomposing. ERICS EYES Staring, unblinking. ERICS POV In his eyes the driver is still alive. INSIDE THE CAR The female passenger is dead too and also has blood stains around her eyes, nostrils and mouth. EXT. AREA SURROUNDING THE CARS - DAY All the cars lined up have dead people inside. At the head of the line of cars there are dead bodies in the same state as the dead driver and his female passenger. Nearby is a road closure sign smeared with bloody hand prints. The dead bodies of the road workers are slumped over the barricades. BEHIND THE BARRICADE Lies a man clothed in a hospital gown, blood stains are around his eyes, nostrils and mouth. INT. ERICS HOUSE - BEDROOM - MORNING Eric wakes up next to his beautiful WIFE (30s) who is already awake. They smile at one another and then kiss. INT. ERICS HOUSE - KITCHEN - DAY Eric irons his work clothes while his Wife prepares breakfast. INT. ERICS HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY Eric watches the morning news and eats breakfast. He finishes his meal, his Wife enters and takes away the plate. WIFE Its almost eight thirty. Eric jumps to his feet. ERIC (mumbles with food) You want this tv on? NEWS REPORTER This just in WIFE (OS) What?! NEWS REPORTER A few quarantined men and women escaped from a hospital this morning Eric swallows the last bit of food. ERIC Do you want the tv on? NEWS REPORTER At this stage we dont know what sickness or disease they carry WIFE (OS) No, turn it off! Eric takes the remote control and turns off the television.

5. EXT. ERICS HOUSE/ENTRANCE - DAY Eric kisses his Wife passionately. WIFE Have a good day. Love you. ERIC I will babe. See you tonight. (winks) Love you too. Erics Wife closes the front door. Before Eric gets to his car his NEIGHBOR carries a bag of rubbish over to Erics bin, blocking him in the process. NEIGHBOR My bin is full, need to use yours. He empties his rubbish into the bin and laughs as he walks away. ERIC Im gonna have to start charging you a fee! Eric gives his Neighbor a one finger salute and gets into his car. INT. ERICS CAR - DAY ERICS EYES Look straight ahead. ERICS POV He sees rows of cars ahead of his. He is in a traffic jam. He can see the two road workers by the barricade. EXT. THE BARRICADE - DAY The Road Worker with the Phone crouches down to the man in the hospital gown. The other road worker stands and looks. ROAD WORKER WITH THE PHONE Yeah, we found one of them here...no hes dead...yeah blood out of his eyes, nose and mouth...well leave him be until you guys show up...

INT. ERICS CAR - DAY TIME DISPLAY The time is 8:45AM. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Ten minute wait so far... The sound of Erics sigh. A car horn blasts from the car behind. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Honking wont help. Annoying guy, just like my neighbor. The time dissolves to 8:50AM. ERICS THOUGHTS (VO) Ten minutes to get there... ERICS EYES Eric stares ahead. DISSOLVE: Eric is asleep. The car behind honks the horn again and jolts Erics eyes open. ERICS POV Looks at the time display. It is 10:30AM. ERIC (V.O) What? Eric adjusts his collar. INT. CAR BEHIND ERICS - DAY The drivers eyes close and his head slumps onto the steering wheel, which beeps the horn but the female passenger moves his head back so it is against the head rest.

INT. ERICS CAR - DAY Eric hears the most recent horn blast. ERIC Shut up! INT. CAR BEHIND ERICS - DAY The Female Passenger frantically moves closer to the driver, whose eyes are closed, and his breathing has stopped. In a panic the female passenger honks the horn but holds down on it. INT. ERICS CAR - DAY Eric cuffs his ears with his hands. ERIC Im fucking sick of this! Eric gets out of the car. EXT. AREA SURROUNDING THE CARS - DAY Some people at the head of the line up of cars get out of their own to see whats going on and these people collapse. Blood comes out of their eyes, nostrils and mouths. INT. CAR AT HEAD OF TRAFFIC JAM - DAY The drivers eyes get heavy and falls forward onto the steering wheel, the pressure applied honks the horn indefinitely. EXT. AREA SURROUNDING THE CARS - DAY A chorus of car horns blast continuously from all of the cars. INT. CAR BEHIND ERICS - DAY The drivers face bleeds from his eyes, nostrils and mouth. The female passenger looks on in terror.

ERIC (V.O) Look you prick, Ive had enough of you and your honking! Eric opens the door. He sees the state of the driver. The female passenger looks on in terror as Eric shakes the drivers head to try and get a response. The female passengers eyes close and she slumps forward, blood starts to come out of her eyes, nostrils and mouth. Eric looks to her and sees what has happened. He reaches to shake her but realizes she is dead like the driver. He pulls himself out of the car. EXT. AREA SURROUNDING THE CARS - DAY Eric turns around. ERIC What the? Eric walks along the line of cars and peers into some of them as he passes. He shakes his head at what he sees. EXT. CAR AHEAD OF JAM - DAY Eric checks the bodies that lie on the ground. Eric takes out his cell phone and selects a phone number. He holds it to his ear for a few moments. ERIC Honey pick up! A few moments later with no answer Eric puts his cell phone back in his pocket and runs. EXT. ERICS CAR - DAY Eric runs to the car and gets in.

EXT. ERICS HOUSE/ENTRANCE - DAY Eric pulls in and rushes to the front door. He unlocks the door with his key. INT. ERICS HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY Eric checks the room. No sign of his Wife. INT. ERICS HOUSE - BEDROOM - MORNING Eric enters and looks in horror as he sees his Wife slumped over on the bed with her back to him. With tears in his eyes he turns her around to reveal that she too is dead, with blood around her eyes, nostrils and mouth. Eric collects her in his arms and collapses on the floor. He cradles his Wifes lifeless body and rocks back and forth. FADE OUT: SUPER: A FEW DAYS LATER... FADE IN: INT. ERICS HOUSE - BEDROOM - MORNING Eric rocks back and forth with his Wifes decomposing body in his arms. He stops and looks into his Wifes face. ERICS POV His Wife smiles at him and they kiss. EXT. ERICS HOUSE/ENTRANCE - DAY Eric, alone, comes out of the house. He stops at the door and turns around. ERICS POV Eric kisses his WIFE passionately.

WIFE Have a good day. Love you. ERIC (V.O) I will babe. See you tonight. (winks) Love you too. Eric stands at the front door and looks ahead. ERICS POV It is day time. The Neighbor carries the garbage bag to Erics bin. NEIGHBOR My bin is full, need to use yours. The Neighbor puts the bag in the bin and laughs as he walks away. ERIC Im gonna have to start charging you a fee. GARBAGE BIN The Neighbors dead body lies next to it. EXT. AREA SURROUNDING THE CARS - DAY Erics car approaches the line and maneoveurs into the empty space between the car at the end of the line and the next one up. INT. CAR - DAY ERICS EYES Stare ahead. ERICS POV He sees rows of cars ahead of his. He is in a traffic jam. He can see the two road workers by the barricade. ERICS EYES A car horn blasts from the car behind. CUT TO: (CONTINUED)
