1- Partnership Program (PP)
Partnership Program of CWS Cambodia has two sub-projects that currently operate in four different
provinces; Kompong Thom Partnership Project provides financial support and technical assistances to
Khmer Organization for Rural Community Development (KORCD) and Cooperation for Indigenous
People and Development in Cambodia (CIDC) to implement Integrated Community Development (ICD)
in Baray and Santuk and Prasath Balangk district; and BTB&BTM Partnership Project provides
financial support and technical assistances to Khmer Community Development Association (KCDA),
Association for Development and Our Villager’s Rights (ADOVIR), Cambodian Family Economic
Development Association (CFEDA), Kumnit Thmey Organization (KNTO), Dhammayietra Battambang
(DYBTB), Dhammaryietra Mongkol Borei (DYMB) in Samlout, Bavel and Sangke districts of
Battambang province, and Ou Chrov, Malai and Mongkul Borei districts of Banteay Meanchey
province, and Banteay Ampil district of Oddar Meanchey province. The Partnership Program Office
provided overall management support to the two projects also provided capacity building, financial and
technical support to CNGOs partners in Phnom Penh and across Cambodia.

 The Partnership Program Office staff provided two


separate training workshops on the “Strategic Plan” to
two partners (Children Committee and Children Support
Foundation) with 23 youth staff from those partners
participated. The training was used the theories putting
into practice developing their strategies. At the end, two

strategies were drafted.

 Within this quarter, the Partnership Program staff


conducted a review of strategic plans and capacity
building plan of Cambodian Farmer Economic
Development (CFED), KORCD and Kampuchea
Christian Councils (KCC) to ensure their strategies and
learning plan are implemented.

 CWS finance team in cooperation with the Partnership


Program staff conducted a financial review to CFED
Svay Rieng as required by their donor, Mekong Plus,
before consideration of new budget.

 Moreover, the Program Partnership staff provided


ongoing coaching of the proposal development for
fundraising to the director of Children Support
Foundation (CSF). With the result, CSF was able
developed four proposals for submissions to UNESCO
for the HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign on Water
Festival Day and World AIDS Day 2008, to FAO for
Campaign of Avian Influenza and another proposal to
ANZ Royal Bank for the Child Protection Project. Among
four proposals, three proposals already approved and
received fund from UNESCO and FAO.

2-KTP Partnership Project
Project Location: Kampong Thom province

 In cooperation with Admin staff of CWS’s Kompong


Thom Village Based Development Project and
Partnership staff, one day training on administrative
work was conducted in October 2008 with five KORCD
staff attended. Additionally, In November, The Kompong
Thom partnership Project in cooperation with KORCD
conducted another two-day refresher training workshop
on Bookkeeping to 30 Self Help Group members, three
VDCs and four KORCD staff attended.

 One KORCD staff was sent to attend training/ workshop


on Basic health and sanitation with CWS Phnom Penh
on 29-31 October 2008.

 KORCD conducted three training courses on simple


report writing, simple proposal writing and minute taking
as well as vegetable planting & compost making to 82
community representatives (27 women).

 During this quarter, KORCD facilitated to form two new


Elder Associations in Thormneath and Tuol Chan
Pagodas with 64 members (24 women) participated.
Similarly, two new vegetable groups with 25 members
(22 women) were also formed in Prampi Makara and
Tang Krasang villages.

 The Partnership Kompong Thom staff coordinated with
the Program Manager to select Cooperation for
Indigenous People and Development in Cambodia
(CIDC) as new holistic partner and provide grant support
of US$ 7,090.00 for the project of ”education support for
the poor children” in Phanheum commune, Prasat
Balangk district. During this reporting period, of the
financial pledge amount, the project disbursed CIDC
US$ 3,090.00 for the first installment while other two
installments will be disbursement in the next quarter.

 The project staff conducted four meetings with KORCD


staff to follow up their field work to; check the update of
village data collection, to explain on NGO Good Practice
(Code of Conduct), to review motor cycle guidelines, to
provide coaching for refresh training on Bookkeeping as
well as discussing on weaving group quarterly report
form and prepare six-month report and including seven
visits to KORCD at office and field.

BTB/BTM Partnership Project
Project Location: Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey

 The Battambang (BTB) and Banteay Meanchey (BTM)


Partnership Project staff provided coaching and support
to Cambodian Nonprofit Organization (CNGO) partner
staff; CFEDA, KNTO, ADOVIR and KCDA regarding
their integrated community development program’s
planning and implementation of the target 59 villages of
Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey
provinces. In addition, within this reporting period, the
Project also disbursed US$ 13,424.00 of grants to
CFEDA and KNTO.

 Organized a five - day training courses on Self Help


Group (SHG) and Small Business Management with 19
CNGO partner staff (8 women) from CFEDA, KCDA,
KNTO and ADOVIR attended. With the result, Partner
staff increased their knowledge and improvement of
their SHG program now.

 A two-day computer training course was organized with


12 CNGO partner staff (6 Women) from CFEDA, KCDA,
KNTO ADOVIR, CSF, CIDC and KORCD attended. With
the result, Partner staff have improved their capacity
working on computer. Additionally, KCDA, KNTO and
CFEDA were provided three sets of desktop computers
to assist their office work.

 Supported/assisted three CNGO partners; KNTO,


CFEDA and KCDA to explain Community Based
Disaster Risk Mitigation (CBDRM) project among
villagers, Village chiefs and VDCs in 40 target villages of
Samlout district, BTB, in Ou Chrov, Malai, Serei
Sophoan and Preah Netr Preah districts, BTM and in

Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey (OMC).
Moreover, 81 old and new Red Cross Volunteers
(RCVs); 40 women in those 40 villages were selected
and supported.

 Two training courses; a three-day refresher training and


a five-day training on Community Based First Aid
(CBFA) were organized in BTM provincial town and in
Samlout district, BTB province with 43 RCVs (18
women) from 28 target villages of CFEDA, KNTO and
KCDA attended.

 Four training courses on CBDRM and planning (two


three-day refresher trainings and other two five-day
trainings) were organized in BTM provincial town and in
Samlout district, BTB province with 80 participants (28
women) from RCVs, Village Health Volunteers (VHVs),
Village Livestock Agents (VLAs), Village Chiefs (VCs)
and Village Development Committees (VDCs) in 28
target villages of CFEDA, KNTO and KCDA attended.

 Two three-day training courses on CBDRM were


organized in BTM and in BTB provincial towns with 45
participants (5 women) of Commune Committees for
Disaster Management (CCDM), District Committees for
Disaster Management (DCDM) and Provincial
Committees for Disaster Management (PCDM) from 9
communes, 6 districts and 3 provinces (BTB, BTM &
OMC) participated. In addition, a four - day training on
CBDRM and Commune Development Planning was
organized in BTM provincial town with 29 participants
(13 women) from 4 CNGO partners, CWS, and BTB and
BTM Red Cross Counterparts participated.

 ADOVIR supported parent associations to finish


construction of a two classroom school (16 m x 7 m) in
Kob village and to dig 120 meters of road for children
going to school in Boeng Snoul village. In addition,
ADOVIR distributed student stationary (4 note books, 2
pens, 1 pencil and 1 ruler) to 354 school children (126
girls). Similarly, ADOVIR also distributed 40 water filters
to 40 families in Boeng Snoul, Boeng Popoul and Kob
villages and organized a two - day training on chicken
raising to 19 farmers (12 women) from Boeng Arak,
Boeng Snoul, and Boeng Popoul villages. These
villages locate in Ampil Pram Daeum commune, Bavel
district, BTB province.

 KNTO supported parent associations in Chob Korki


Lech and Kaeut villages, Ampil commune, Banteay
Ampil district, OMC province to finish construction of a
two classrooms school (16 m x 7 m) for 54 children (32
girds).

 CFEDA distributed 100 water buckets to 100 families in
Ou Ampil and Santepheap villages, Toul Pongro
commune, Malai district, BTM province. CFEDA also
distributed 350 kg of white rice (5 kg/person) to 16 food
shortage families (75 persons) in Bonlech village,
US$ 75,122.30 US$ 13,256.88
