On the riqht to assoqiat"g Dear Prime Minister,

I am appalled to hear about the situation regarding the right of workers to association in Moldova Republic.

According to the Federation of Trade Unions of construction and building materials industry "SlNDlCONS", affiliated to the Building and Wood Workers'lnternational, BWl, the union organised a flash mob in front of a construction site employing trade union members of the building company "Monolit Construct" union in order to attract attention of the public authorities to the fact that the employer does not respect the right of workers to form and join trade unions.
There are only 11 union members left in the union. Under pressure from the administration, other members wrote statements of withdrawal from the union, being afraid of losing their jobs, which would leave their families without livelihoods. Many of them are women.
I strongly urge you to end the violations against the members of the union and to honor ILO conventions 87 and 98 on the right to organize and freedom of association.
