EXT. LAWN - DAY KERRY, 21 and a diligent worker, stands next to GUS, 35 and a crotchety IT Tech. Beside them sit a manual grass-cutter. GUS Alright Kerry, since youre the new intern, this is your responsibility. You gotta mow all this grass for me. Kerry motions to the manual grass-cutter. KERRY Why am I using this mower when we have a gas mower? GUS Have you seen the price of gas, man? JESUS! Gus walks off. GUS (CONTD) Alright, buddy, take it easy! Kerry looks at the overgrown lawn and sighs with disappointment. CUT TO: EXT. LAWN - DAY Kerry mows the lawn, showing the passage of time. He eventually hits something. He stops and scrapes off the dirt on the object. It reads, GUS TIME CAPSULE, 2010. KERRY Gus time capsule? He opens the lid and quickly throws out a moldy sandwich. He digs deeper to find a note entitled, READ ME. He takes it out of the box and looks around him, making sure no one is watching him. INSERT: TEXT ON PAPER & COORESPONDING B-ROLL

GUSTAVO SOROLA. TIME CAPSULE, 2010. A YEAR OF CHANGE. BPS OIL SPILL DEVASTATES THE GULF OF MEXICO. AN EARTHQUAKE RAVISHES HAITI. BEYONCE HAS THE BEST MUSIC VIDEO OF ALL TIME. THOUGH ALL THESE EVENTS MADE NATIONAL HEADLINES, NONE WERE AS IMPORTANT AS THE DAY WHEN I MET KERRY SHAWCROSS GUS (V.O.) Gustavo Sorola. Time capsule, 2010. A year of change. BPs oil spill devastates the Gulf of Mexico. An earthquake ravishes Haiti. Beyonce has the best music video of all time. Though all these events made national headlines, none were as important as the day we hired Kerry Shawcross. Kerry smiles. INT. OFFICE (FLASHBACK) - DAY Kerry sits in his chair. GUS (V.O.) He began at our company as an intern and slowly climbed the ladder. I assigned him the desk closest to my office so I could keep an eye on him. And keep an eye on him, I did. Gus looks out of his office, staring at Kerry. EXT. LAWN - DAY Kerry continues to read the letter. GUS (V.O.) In this time capsule, Ive included a water bottle of Kerrys saliva, which I collected the first timeINT. OFFICE (FLASHBACK) - DAY Kerry takes a sip of water from a glass. GUS (V.O.) Kerry left a mostly finished glass of water on his deks.

INT. AMBIGUOUS (FLASHBACK) - DAY Gus stacks up fingernails into a figure. GUS (V.O.) A Kerry figurine which I made exclusively from Kerrys fingernail clippings. INT. SHOWER (FLASHBACK) - DAY A hand reaches out of a shower to grab a towel. GUS (V.O.) Hidden camera footage of Kerry in the shower. EXT. LAWN - DAY Kerry continues to read. GUS (V.O.) So, reader of this letter, I urge you to keep this letter a secret. We REVEAL Gus standing shirtless next to Kerry, reading the words from the letter. GUS (CONTD) For the world cannot understand our love. Kerry awkwardly stares at Gus and slowly puts back the time capsule, grabs the lawn mower, and continues to mow. Gus smiles at him. THE END.
