When God Calls

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you
which path to take. Proverbs 3:6 (NLT)
By John Stark, Director of Media Ministries
God has taught, equipped, matured, and
developed me significantly here at FFC since
1980. After 13 years of serving on staff it has now
become clear that God is calling me to serve Him
beyond the walls of FFC and finish my formal
education. Accepting this call was not easy for
our family, but we know it is always best to follow
God’s will. Starting in January our family will
begin serving along with pastor Roger Poupart and Don Reece at
Wayside Chapel in San Antonio, TX.
I am extremely thankful for the Federated family. It was here
that I found and married my wife and shared the joy of a growing
family. We have a lifetime of memories to cherish.

The seminar is a fast-
moving, practical, idea-rich,
day of fun, laughter, explora-
tion and hard-hitting truth
telling presented by Dr. Tom
Clegg, President of Coach-
Net North America and the
Missional Transformation
Network. Delivered in a lively and informative style, this seminar
is ideally suited for a team from our church to attend and process
the material together during the seminar. Each segment leads into
a strategizing session for you to apply what you have just learned
to our church context.
Our church will benefit from each powerful segment of the
seminar. The day will cover the seven impressions our church
makes before guests ever happen upon our front door, the seven
important loving touches they should receive during their very
first visit, the seven important things we should do in the first
seven days after that first visit, the crucial first seven weeks after
the first visit, the strategic first seven months, the vital need of
making seven new relationships and many other transforming
issues faced by every growing church.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 17, 9:00AM–3:30PM
(lunch provided) and join us at The Seven Habits of a Visitor
Friendly Church presented by First Federated Church. The cost
for the day is $15. You’ll be glad you did!

We extend our deepest appreciation, love and thanks to all our

Federator family (Philippians 1:3) who wonderfully served us
during the sudden homegoing of our beloved bride and mother,
Edith Underwood. Our special thanks to Pastor Mike Rose, presen-
tor, Steve Daugherty, soloist Terry Stark, organist Bill Pedrick, the
men’s quartet, Jack Kamerick, Scott Erickson, Scott Johnson, and
Ed Green, for the Spirit filled and led music and message. We are
deeply grateful to the women’s association and all the volunteers
who did an outstanding job in providing a most delicious lunch.
The Lord answered our prayers in that her celebration service truly
glorified our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our thanks to every
person involved. We are grateful for all your prayers and support, in
so many other ways, during her abrupt passing. We have surely felt,
then and now, that powerful prayer support.
