I. New Dimension Racing 1. New Dimension Racing (NDR) is the team that organizes leagues and events for the motorsport simulator Live for Speed. The team also has the option of entering events that it is not administering as a racing team. a. New Dimension Racing drivers may enter in a New Dimension Racing League or event provided there is written permission by the Chief Race Administrator in the LFS Forum prior to the event, and that any protest procedures involving said drivers is dealt with using non-participant members of NDR. 2. The New Dimension Racing Team Consists of the following positions. a. Chief Race Administrator (CRA): The incumbent CRA is charged with the task of administering all races run by NDR. The incumbent shall also design all regulations. Courses must be approved by the CRA. Autocross layouts may be implemented to meet the CRAs requirements. The CRA may override permitted signups by another NDR member. The CRA has final say in all event occurrences. Should the CRA be unavailable for an event, the current CRA shall name his substitute in a public forum post. b. Chief Operations Officer (COO): The incumbent COO is charged with the task of setting provisional calendars in conjunction with the CRA, and shall be the person responsible for maintaining signups and entry lists. The COO shall be the person tasked with leading of advertising of NDR events and leagues. Should the CRA be unavailable for an event and not exercise the option to name a replacement, the COO shall be the default replacement. c. Chief Information Officer (CIO): The incumbent CIO is charged with the task of maintenance of the NDR website, and forum. The CIO shall be the assistant to the COO with regards to signups and entry and promotion. d. Chief Content Officer (CCO): The incumbent CCO is charged with the task of performing all streaming video services for NDR. e. Assistant Race Administrator (ARA): The incumbent ARA shall be an assistant administrator in all NDR events. The ARA may be charged with the title of Race Director of an NDR league at the CRA’s direction. The ARA shall be the next default substitute for the CRA in the event of the CRA’s absence. f. Safety Car Driver: The Safety Car Driver shall be one or more persons qualified to operate the Safety Car during an event. Training may be required. Limitations may be set as to which NDR events persons with this title may be authorized to SC at. There must be at least two (2) qualified Safety Car Drivers at each NDR sanctioned or supported event. g. Driver: The Driver shall be one or more persons qualified to race on behalf of NDR in racing events, regardless of their sanctioning body. 3. NDR is an invitation-only team. Invitations must be agreed to by both the Chief Race Administrator and the Chief Operations Officer. II. General 1. Knowledge of Rules a. Every Racer who enters into a New Dimension Racing Event must read and understand the New Dimension Racing Sporting Code as well as the rules and regulations for the particular event and shall commit themselves to abide by the rules contained therein. 2. Finality of Decisions a. Every decision made by the organizers and race officials is final. b. There is a period for appeals for penalties issued by the Race Director. This period is announced when it opens and closes. Appeals outside of this window will not be heard, except from conditions of force majeure. 3. Forum Reading a. You are obliged to read the New Dimension Racing Events forum as well as any other websites that are stated as Official Sources of Information on a regular basis so as to know what is going on with the events and when. 4. Driver Names and Number Plates a. You are required to use this format for your Racer Name: Car Number First Initial Last Name (e.g. 123 J. Bloggs). Failure to use this format in Officially Timed Sessions may result in exclusion from session. b. Your Number Plate shall be left empty for all Officially Timed Sessions, unless otherwise noted in a series rule book. 5. Car Liveries 1. You must produce a car livery (skin) for each New DImension Series or Event you are participating in. Generally, NDR will not regulate designs in and of themselves - drivers are free to go with what they wish. NDR may request certain items be placed on the skins in certain ways, which are to be taken into consideration. This section of the Sporting Code illustrates the general requirements for your skins. Individual event or series rule books may amend or modify or forego these requirements. a. Your skin must be uploaded onto LFSWorld, and therefore must meet the standards of doing so. You must also post a high-resolution copy of your skin in the appropriate thread of the forum for the event your skin is to be used for. b. For closed-roof cars (tin-tops), the car number shall be clearly marked on the doors, and on the roof of the car, to be visible from facing the left side of the car. c. For open cockpit cars (formula cars), the car number shall be placed on the nose section, oriented so as to be viewed facing the car straight on; and the numbers shall be on both rear wing endplates. d. For open cockpit cars without wings (MRT), the numbers that would normally be on the endplates shall be placed on the side pods. e. For open wheeled cars without wings (LX), the numbers that would normally be on the roof shall be placed on the bonnet. 2. New Dimension Racing may from time to time require drivers to run specific identification badges in certain locations of the car. These badges may not be modified in any way, for example, no color profile changes, no opacity adjustments, no distortion of the plate. Scaling may be done for the badge to fit in the required location, should the badge be sized incorrectly. Liveries should not cause the badge to be obscured, or have its visibility reduced. 6. Attendance a. If for any reason, you are unable to attend a race, please advise the Competition Director as soon as possible. b. If you fail to advise prior to the start of the final Free Practice session of the weekend, or other stated deadline, you may face temporary suspension from the series which you are participating in. c. You must be present in the server by the start of qualifying, or the stated deadline, whichever comes earlier, to be considered on time. Late comers will be started from the back of the grid or pit lane, at the discretion of the race director. If you do not show up by the time qualifying ends, you may not be permitted to enter the race, at the discretion of the race director. d. An event may be postponed or suspended at the administration's discretion should less than eight (8) cars be available to run or to complete full distance. In the event of a postponement prior to qualifying or race start, the event may be rescheduled to run on a later date. If the event cannot be rescheduled, or the race started before suspension, points will be awarded based on the regulations for that particular series. III. Personal Conduct 1. Personal Behavior a. Every person associated with a New Dimension Racing-sanctioned event shall conduct themselves according to the highest standards of behavior and sportsmanship, particularly in their relationship with other competitors and officials, and in a manner that shall not be prejudicial to the reputation of New Dimension Racing or to the sport. 2. Driving Code a. Competitors are expected to race in a safe and considerate manner. Any competitor who drives in a dangerous or overly aggressive manner without showing consideration for their fellow competitors will be penalized. IV.Flags 1. Green a. The course is clear and the session is under way. 2. Yellow a. There has been an incident somewhere upstream of the flag. Reduce your speed and be prepared to quickly and safely change direction. There is no overtaking in a yellow flag area. 3. Red a. The session has been stopped due to an incident. Use caution and proceed to pit lane immediately. Overtaking is forbidden. 4. Blue a. Used as a warning to a slower car that a faster car is approaching. Use caution. Hold your line, and make no moves to impede the faster car. 5. Black and White divided diagonally a. Competitor warning displayed with number. Used to warn driver of improper driving conduct. Failure to improve conduct will result in a black flag. 6. Black a. A summons to enter pit lane for consultation or penalty. Number is shown with the flag. Racer must comply within three laps of the issuance of the flag or a disqualification will result. 7. White a. There is a slow vehicle ahead on course. Overtaking is permitted, but use caution for a slow car. 8. Checkered a. The session is ended. V. Driving Conduct 1. Racing Surface a. The racing surface shall be defined as the marked, paved race course and its curbing only. Pit lanes, their entries and exits, run-offs, grass verges, et al are expressly excluded from the racing surface. b. Positions gained by leaving the racing surface shall be yielded back or a drive-thru penalty will be assessed. 2. Car-to-car Contact a. It is the responsibility of all drivers to avoid physical contact between cars. b. All competitors have a right to “racing room” on the marked racing surface. c. “Racing Room” is defined as sufficient space to allow a competitor to maintain control of his car in close quarters under racing conditions. VI. Overtaking 1. Overlap a. When overtaking a car, you must achieve any measure of overlap with the car you are overtaking in order to have the rights for that corner. b. “Any Measure of Overlap” is defined as the front of the overtaking car being level with or beyond the rear quarter-panel of the overtaken car (for tin-tops) or rear wheel (for single-seaters). c. This measurement is taken at the normal turn-in point. 2. Conduct a. Any Racer who causes an incident as a result of not establishing overlap, or by turning in on a car against whom they had no right, are expected to wait for the other car to pass them even if that action involves losing several positions. b. Failure to follow this will result in a penalty. 3. Defending Position a. You may move once per track segment (between two corners) to prevent an overtaking maneuver. b. You may return to your line after that move. You may make no further moves to obstruct until the next track segment. c. If a driver has attained any measure of overlap, you may consider your defensive maneuver to have failed and must allow room for that car on the course. VII. Driving a Damaged Car 1. Still Drivable a. When your car is damaged to the point that you cannot continue at your race pace in a safe manner, put your hazard lights on, slow to a safe speed, and drive off the racing line as far as you can get. Continue under extreme caution to the pits. 2. Not Drivable a. When your car is damaged to the point that you cannot continue, you must make any effort to get your car to the safest location nearby. A rescue car (if available) will attempt to push you to a safe location. If that is unable to happen, you will be spectated by the Race Director when he is able to. VIII. Incidents 1. Recovering From a. The onus is entirely on the driver recovering from an incident to take all necessary care to not interfere with any cars still on track and not part of the incident. b. You must do everything you can to minimize the hazard your car may constitute as soon as possible. 2. Returning to the Course a. The onus is entirely on the driver returning to the track after an off to take all necessary care not to interfere with any cars still on the track. 3. Ahead/Behind Responsibilities a. The onus is on the behind driver to take all necessary care and responsibility to not cause an incident with an ahead driver. b. The ahead driver must not do any malicious or inappropriate braking/slowing. IX. Penalties 1. The New Dimension Racing Team shall be permitted to apply penalties in events that it either sanctions or supports. 2. Penalties are to be set in the event’s regulations, except when they deal with Probation and Exclusion, with which they are to direct to the procedure in the NDR Sporting Code. X. Probation 1. Probation is defined as “a period of time defined at the time of issuance where the person on probation is subject to extra monitoring, or more strict penalties for incidents.” Probation applies to NDR sanctioned events, or events where the Race Director is a member of NDR. 2. The probation shall be listed in the “New Dimension Racing-Wide Penalties” thread on the LFS Forums, and shall include the LFSName of the user on probation, probation start and end date, and overall duration. 3. Probation periods may be reduced or eliminated after observance of excellent behavior and consensus to probation reduction by the CRA and the COO. XI. Exclusion 1. Exclusion is defined as “a period of time defined at the time of issuance where the person excluded is not permitted to enter NDR-sanctioned events.” 2. The exclusion shall be listed in the “New Dimension Racing-Wide Penalties” thread on the LFS Forums, and shall include the LFSName of the user excluded, exclusion start and end date, and duration. 3. Exclusion may be reduced after an appeal by the excluded racer, to be considered by the CRA, COO, and ARA. A consensus of the three must be reached to shorten or eliminate the exclusion period. After conclusion or end of an exclusion period, there is an automatic six-week probation period. XII. Driver Aids / Game Modifications 1. New Dimension Racing prohibits use of hacks that modify the natural performance of the vehicle. Drivers found to be utilizing such tools are subject to exclusion from future NDR events. 2. Competitors are not to use player hacker during official sessions. 3. NDR does not establish a general rule regarding driving aids such as Traction Control or Anti-Lock Braking systems. These are established in the individual series rules. XIII. Entry Fees 1. New Dimension Racing reserves the right to charge entry fees to events, to be used to support the operations of the team. Details on Entry Fee enforcement, collection, and a Schedule of Fees shall be made available in a document entitled “Supplemental Document I: Entry Fees”
