Your Keele Card is your Library Card
You must present your Keele Card every time you borrow items. Your Keele Card also allows you to: Use print and copy facilities Pay for items at Library Service Counters Book group or single study rooms There are Keele Card top up machines in both Library sites.

Renew and avoid fines


As long as an item is not reserved by someone else, you can renew a borrowed item as many times* as you wish. You can do this online via Catalogue Plus

Resources

The Library pays for access to a range of resources and databases that are made available to you via your Library account. These make searching for and storing information so much easier. TALIS Aspire is an online reading list system Encore the simplest way to search the Library Catalogue Refworks stores and manages your sources If you need any help making the most of these services please attend a scheduled training session or ask at the Service Counter or Info Point.

A good environment for all


Eating of take-away food can cause a stale, smelly environment so please restrict eating hot food to the Refreshments Area on the ground floor Drinking water is provided in the Refreshments area. Drinks consumed in other parts of the building must be in lidded containers to avoid spillages Noise if its noisy use our text service and staff will investigate call 07768 511143 (even in group study rooms)

Here to support you


Library staff will always be happy to help you. There is no need to make an appointment; just pop along to the Service Counter or Info Point during staffed hours. A designated Liaison or Training Librarian will normally meet you at Induction sessions set up by your School. In addition they provide a range of information skills sessions to help you throughout the year. Details can be found at

For more complex queries, one to one sessions can be booked with a Liaison Librarian. Please ask at the counter to make an appointment.

When we need to get in touch with you


We will always use your University email account . We will send emails to let you know when reserved items are ready for collection, to remind you that an item is due for return/renewal and alert you about overdue items. Please check your University email account to ensure you dont miss important information from us.

Working o campus or studying at a distance?


When you are working off campus you can access many resources online. We will be able to answer most queries over the phone or by email during counter opening hours. We can arrange to post print items* (not journals) out to you and you can post them back ... so when getting into the Library is difficult there is an alternative. *there is a charge for postal loans You should also investigate SCONUL Access Scheme - it enables you to use other University Libraries that may be nearer to where you are based.
