There is a particular fire that burns in the heart of every member of the JV team. Wethink about it all the time. Knowing that just 1% of the young people in Central and Eastern Europe are evangelical believers, we cant take our eyes off the 99% thatstill need to be reached. For us, these are names and faces, individual stories and eternal destinies. We are driven by a desire to see 32 million lost young people transformed by the gospel ofJesus Christ. This means that our team is constantly thinking about new ways to reach this next generation. We keep working towards increased fruit in evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, and healthy, reproducing churches. What did this look like in 2012? Lets look at this vision through the eyes of Daniel and Iwona Eifling, JV missionaries in Wroclaw, Poland. Daniel grew up in America and Iwona was raised in Poland. Theymet while studying at Denver Seminary, and then returned to Poland in response to Gods call in 2006. When they walk through the streets of Wroclaw in Southern Poland, they know that in spite of a population of 600,000 people, and 150,000 college students, there are only 15 small evangelical churches. Daniel and Iwona are good examples of the multicultural diversity that exists in the JV team. At the end of 2012 there were 234 staff serving with JV. They came from 14 different countries, and close tohalf are Central and Eastern Europeans.

Financial Report

In July, Daniel and Iwona led an evangelistic camp with the young people from their church. Visiting classes in various schools, they invited young people to afull immersion English camp where they would also learn about God. Close to80students spent a week at H2O, a 17 acre facility owned by Josiah Venture with its own lake, pools, cabins, and a staff committed to reaching young people. Every evening a part of the gospel was shared, culminating in a challenge to respond on Thursday night. God moved in a powerful way, and 29 of them trusted Christ! Evangelistic camps, youth rock choirs (Fusion), outreach programs in schools (Exit tour) and personal witness were some of the key ways that JV staff sowed the seeds of the gospel in 2012. The team shared the good news face to face with over 24,000 young people this last year, and over 1000 of these put their faith in Jesus Christ.

What is ahead for 2013?

Christs command to make disciples includes more than just conversion. New believers need to become rooted in Jesus and part of a healthy church. As soon as the camp ended, Daniel and Iwona began following up with the new believers through personal meetings, youth group events and integrating them into the life of the church. It takes a lot of one-on-one discipleship and small group Bible studies to help young people grow. Additional momentum comes when they get together with other believers at youth conferences or weekend retreats. In 2012, JV staff invested in more than 5000 young people through small group Bible studies, disciple-making conferences, and growth level retreats. Like most JV staff, Daniel and Iwona both serve in a local church and train leaders across the country. Daniel leads a program called School of Leaders, where youth leaders from across Poland are equipped and trained. Through a series ofweekend meetings, they study ministry principles from the life of Christ and learn specific skills that will make them effective youth leaders in their local churches. Since Iwona grew up in a divorced family, she has a special heart for hurting girls. Out of this has grown regular training days that help leaders learn how to bring healing tothose from broken homes. In 2012, JV staff took over 5400leaders through some level of training. This in-depth equipping is impacting hundreds ofchurches across Central and Eastern Europe, as next generation leaders are empowered to make disciples. The renewal that God is bringing to the youth ministry in Wroclaw isimpacting the entire church. It has become thefastest growing church in Poland, anddisciplemaking principles learned in the youth group are spreading to every aspect of their ministry. Through a special initiative called Advance, Josiah Venture staff are working to encourage young leaders into church planting and help healthy churches tomultiply. In 2012, over800participated in these events, and27new church plants are underway. This fruit was made possible by a committed and sacrificial team of people which includes you! Because of your financial gifts and prayers, we were able to respond toChrists call to find and shepherd many of his lost sheep in 2012.
